Help with my setup PLEASE!

I am sorry to be posting a topic asking for help, but no one replied on the other thread meant for that.

I have a space 3.4ft by 2ft by 4 ft tall. I was hoping to make a DIY grow LED lamp using CREE 3590s or something else you suggest. I am hopping to achieve 600w (maybe 400w) at the wall. See if I can hit .9 g/W.

I have another cabinet wich is 3ft by 3ft. I would like on that one to build a 400w LED light using Crees or Veros.

The questions are: What are the best LEDS for these two situations and DRIVERS.
I just want to remember I would like to run these LEDS close to max performance if possible. *(*Already been advised against running them @ full chat. So that is a NO, NO.)

Thank you in advance and sorry once again about the desperate post.

Cheers

Better read up more...

Max power is led 101.... Not good.

600w is way too much for that size space. Regardless of lighting type.

Cheers

Today I use 400 HPS on both.
I have been reading for a long time before posting, but I found some contradictions.

Maybe 6 cree 3070s.
What sort of Umol would I'd be getting. Just tired of getting 200g from 400w hps.

And had horrible experiences with GrowSun LED Chinese Lights the 320W model (actually 280) complete crap for me that only work with sativas that EAT light!

6 Cree cobs, three in each row, 38tish watts each- the way to Go! :hump:
Do I buy these 3070s with what (affordable) drivers?
One driver for each COB? How many Umols are we speaking roughly?
Thank you for your help. Sorry about all the noob questions...

U just could not get dense bugs from chinese "full Spectrum" 20W cobs.
Complete garbage.

I am so excited about these new chips, I can't wait to build my lamp.

What grow method are you using?
I am not totally sold on the idea that watts=weight
If the available light is not being fully utilized just adding even more light to the same situation I don't believe is going to increase yield

Bridgelux Vero series, either Vero 18 or Vero 29, or any of the larger CXB series by Cree would work in that space.

I would suggest anywhere between 320 and 400 watts in each of those spaces. 320 would provide great results.

The COB you pick depends on how many you want to use in that space, and what drive current you want to run them at. You should familiarize yourself with the datasheets "Vero 18 datasheet" "cxb3070 datasheet" for instance. They will tell you the currents you can run them at and the resulting wattage and light output. Once you have a good idea of emitter and current, and how many you will be ready to pick drivers for them.

Personally I don't think there's anything bad about running at their nominal current, which is the manufacturer recommendation, if trying to save a few bucks, but some people like to run them with less current and get better efficiency.

Yep, Bridgelux too :hump: I just ordered a bunch x V18 x 3500k for a greenhouse/winterhouse experiment

we are talking cree 3070s here...
I am. Iv'e mostly powered at .7a but am liking the 1050mA boost.
I had 6 @ .7a with a bit less space and headroom than you in my last grow but whatever- 35-40w sq ft (cree/b'lux cobs) seems what most people aim for here (however you achieve it), a good compromise to make the most of efficiency especially in small spaces.

I was aiming for 2000 Umoles per square meter or close to that. I am getting something like 30.000 lumens canopy level with the HPS. Maybe 500 Umoles tops.

My Sativa does not like low light and the secondary nugs are fluffy as fuck.
I had one try during the winter with a 600 HPS and some small PAR less and it was WAYYYY better.

So you say, maybe 400w LED would suffice... Maybe not 2000 micro moles but close to that in that space?

Cheers guys!
