Well watering cycles depend on what your growing with. How fast the water dissipates that sort of thing. If you are aero and spraying them, the best is 1 min on and 4 min off.
More popular grows are soil, water every other day. If you are using hydroton and rockwool the water for 30 min twice a day. Just cause its a hydro grow dosent mean you water for hours. Roots need water to dry on them. so its really humidity thats needed.

Well, somewhere in there it ought to answer your question.

thanks. yeah im using an aerogarden classic 7 pod. so the settings are limited to what i mentioned earlier. i do have a way around these fixed settings but would rather not do that.. so would 15, 17, 20 or 24 hours of "waterpumpin" be the best?

LOL thats your options?

I have seen a couple grows done in this but they had to remove the light and get a better one to flower.
Well I would go 15 for now and if they survive and thrive increase the pumpin. If they wilt they need oxygen. you may want to add an airstone and run it 24/7

i was wondering how can tell if there is a way to tell during veg stage if your plant is going to be a male or female

ok will get an airstone and try 15 hours.

It’s possible to tell the sex of a weed plant early by covering a plant’s lower branch for 12 hours a day while it’s in a constant light vegetative state. Use a black paper bag or equivalent to allow for air flow while keeping out light. Be sure to set up a regular cycle for these covered branches. If light is allowed to reach them during the dark period, they may not indicate early at all.
Use a magnifying glass to look at the early flowers sex type. A male weed plant will have a small club (playing card) looking preflower with a small stem under it. A female flower is usually a single or double pistil, white and wispy, emerging from an immature calyx.
Some people like to pre-force weed plants when they are 8” tall, in order to weed out the males.

I never heard of that. Besides the fact that it wouldnt be as easy as you state, I believe the transformation the plant takes when going into flower is done from the grow tip to the roots.
The method most growers that I know use to sex a plant is to take cuttings and lable them and the doner while the plants are in veg and root them, takes a week or so, and start them under 12/12 to sex the clones. (takes about 2 weeks) Find the males and the pull the donner plant. Durring that time your plants grow to a good enough size to flower. You can always re-veg the female clones and keep them if you like.

I run mine on greens, 24 hours. Some people use a bubble stone and as soon as roots touch the water they unplug the pump. I use an air stone and keep the pump running 24/7.

yes you can EASILY just force one branch into flower/seed so long as it only gets 12/12. this can be done from about 3 weeks old.

Also i have hooked a timer up to my AG, set it to SALAD GREENS (24hr pump) and set the timer to 15 minutes on / 30 minutes off. what do you think? better than original setting options??

yeah thats right also slows the plant right down for a couple weeks they take long enough as it is. next time you get the chance just cover a branch for 12 to see
