Help with RSO

Hi guys

We tried to made some RSO the other day, however it turned out more like squidgey black hash instead of an oil.

Anyone got any suggestions oh what may have gone wrong. Followed the standard RSO method except i used bubble bag instead of coffee filters. May this be the problem?

What kind of pot were you using? Old pot loses a lot of the low boiling point parts of the oil so it comes out a lot thicker or maybe you heated it too much when evaporating and cooked those off.

Using a bubble bag would let a lot of fine particles through and thicken the oil too. I use a lab grade filter that is much finer than a coffee filter to do mine. I'd bet that's what happened. Re-dissolve it in warm ISO then filter again with a coffee filter would be my advice.
