Help with scrog please

This is my 3rd grow, first time scrog. I probably vegged these 5 plants too long so i need advice. I have a screen that is 2'x8'. I set the screen 10" above the medium. I have 5 plants to put under it and as you can see it looks pretty full. Should I take one or more plants out? Should I switch to 12/12 now? Do I need to prune some more? I would really like to wait another 2 weeks to switch to flower because I will be leaving for a 2 week vacation in exactly 8 weeks from today. I really need some advice here!

Hey Tigerpaws Looking good my brother. I run SCROGS myself and have always been happy with my results. To answer your first question I would say no do not move any plants. It does look full but I have run some pretty hectic SCROGS and as long as the flowers aren't touching each other and getting air and light you are in the clear. Let me ask how many colas are underneath the net that could possibly reach the netting? ( even if the just hit the top of the netting as long as they have an opening to get light your cool) That will kind of answer your question as to whether you should switch or veg for another two weeks. If most of your colas have reached the netting or with a few inches of it I would go ahead and switch to flower because there is a Pre-Flower stretch period that you will be dealing with as well, but if you still have a decent amount that would be able to reach the netting ( giving 2 more weeks of veg) then I would wait to switch. That all being said you still have to draw the line on the colas underneath the netting and know some will have to go.

It is hard to tell with just two pics but it looks like a lot of your colas haven't even reached the netting ( from what I can see could be wrong). Im wondering if possibly lowering your netting a few inches ( if you can ) will help you tidy it up and allow more colas to get light. I know it seems kind of backward thinking that lowering the netting will actually make everything more cluttered, but in my experience ( and this is just a personal opinion) lowering the netting ( when necessary ) will actually give you more length on the stem so to speak to weave through the netting and move everyone in certain places so everyone has their space. Hope that makes sense.

OK that clears some things up. Thanks! So the little ones that won't reach the screen you chop off and then wait like a week to flower? Also do you leave all fan leaves or get rid of some?

If I veg for 2 more weeks should I just leave it where it is?

Also the openings in the screen are 2"x2". should I try to go every other one or is side by side fine?

Ok good glad that cleared some things up. No worries brother. All good questions. As far as the netting goes I would move it still a few inches downward. The only time I ever adjust a netting downward is when I need to flower sooner than I expected or I didn't have enough time to completely Veg out like I wanted. So your exact situation. Every inch the netting is brought down is like a few days of veg you don't have to give the plants if that makes sense. As far as the little ones underneath it really depends on the height you move your netting to, but in general if they are halfway to the screen from the soil they aint gunna make it anything above that line you will have to make a judgement call on whether or not to cut. As you LST your colas and weave them through the screen openings the SCROG will be opening up to give the lower colas light. As far as trimming leaves I wouldn't get too crazy. Ideally you would trim leaves of the underneath throughout veg so by the time you hit flower the underneath is clear. That said i have run SCROGS without trimming underneath ( as experiment ) and they turned out fine. Whenever you trim your underneath colas that wont make it depending on how many there are I wouldn't take too many from each plant at once maybe a few every 3 days or so ( don't want to shock anything this close to flower ). Lastly I would try to leave 3-4 days at the very least of no trimming before you flower to give the plants time to recover somewhat.

one in every hole would be ideal, but its probably not gunna happen to be honest. Once all the Colas have reached the netting during the stretch they all willl rise above the netting somewhat and during that time you LST everyone so that they each all have their own individual spaces. So whether you get every cola in its own square or not shouldn't really make a big deal. LST is your biggest friend in the SCROG if you want that picture perfect picture look

Definitely! I chose not to lower the screen since I just put them under it. I'm going to give it a couple of days and see what comes up. I'll take a better picture today since I pulled some tops up through it and then again in a couple of days to get your opinion. Thanks again!

I personally keep tucking the tops under for the first 3,sometimes 4 week of flowering.Has long has you are not too hard on them,By this i mean breaking any tops they will be fine.Get those lights lower,Though.Or they will keep stretching.i Also all ways set my screen about 6 inch above the plants at the start of flowering,This gives you a week to play with,after 4 week the growth slow's down vertically.

Starting to get the hang of the tucking but I have a dilemma and I need some advice. I leave on a 2 week vacation in 55 days. If I switch to flower now I'll be gone when its most likely time to harvest. If I wait for 10 to 14 days to switch will I need to raise the screen? Or what would you do?
