Help with SCROG

Hi all, I just had one question. I was wondering what size gallon pot I could possibly use in a SCROG method. My dimensions are 2x1x3 (LWH). I want to grow 2 plants since they only need 1 square foot of space each.

My 150 watt HID light will be either 5 3/4" or 7 1/4" in height (still have not decided which one I want). I'm guesstimating I have maybe a foot of grow space; so could I get away with 2 1-gallon pots? BC I believe the rule of thumb is 1 gallon per vertical height. IDK if this applies to SCROG

Thanks for the help

I'd maybe think about doing two plants in a 2'x1' rubbermaid type container (put in a divider if you want, drill some drainage, use the lid as a catcher), top the growth tips two times, and LST it just a bit if needed to help fill any horizontal space. Should be fairly easy to do before they grow much vertically. SCROG would work, I just think it would be a complete PITA in such a confined vertical space for little gain.

I've heard a lot about SCROG, thats why I want to try it. I was going to FIM it in addition to SCROG. Anyways, would a 1'x1'x6" pot work? I know it's not much vertical space and more horizontal space. Anyways, would that work?

People do grows in party cups - it will work if the plants are kept small enough. By the way, I think some 5 gallon and most 10 gallon disposable square grow bags are approximately 12"x12" - you could just cut them down to the desired height with some scissors and it would maximize the 1'x2' area as opposed to using circular pots/buckets.

jesus of Cannabis- To make it bushier and shorter as opposed to taller. Or is this wrong?

Thanks for the idea TaoWolf
