Help with stem borer ID!!

Plants are in their second week of flowering. Everything has been going well then all of a sudden my Cole Train started having entire branches wilt but not fully die off. There were a couple of cracks and a brown dry looking section of the main stem where I had pinched the plant early on and assumed some kind of fungus. It was slowly spreading up the plant killing off branches as it moved. Yesterday I came home and the entire top half of one of my super lemon haze plants wilted without fully drying up and dying. To get to the point I found a tiny hole in the stalk (like the head of a needle small)and some small black flea like bugs eating the insides of my slh and similar brown markings on another plant.

I took a few crappy pics with my phone to get up asap. Ill take some better pics tomorrow when the sun is up.Anybody have any idea what they are or how to deal with them? Im a diabetic so ive got a bunch of insulin needles so I was thinking about injecting an insectacide into their little holes and see what happens.

Thanks, much appreciated. I know the pics are fuzzy and its gonna be tough to id the insects with these photos so im going to take the bugs to the University of Hawaii Ag lab and they'll do a report on them and hopefully let me know what they are. I'll make sure to report their findings.
