I would like to know if the T5's that people are going on about are the same ordinary Fluorescent tubes that people have in there kitchen, if so could i just buy some fitments and some random bulbs [6000k and 2700k], im sorry if this question seems very stupid or self explanatory but i don't have much knowledge in T5's i use CFLs

Nope, the ones you have in the kitchen are T12. T5's are typically specialized lights used for aquariums or grow lights. I use T5's to grow coral and it works quite well.

i use t5s for veg, they work great. i never use for flower though. you also want to make sure the t5s are the HO or high output. http://www.littlegreenhouse.com/guide3.shtml

for flowering, if you want decent results, you will need a hps. its possible with CFLs, but not worth it, they have no light penetration and their lumen output is junk compared other lighting sources. flowering is also much slower under cfls.
