These four ladies got FIM'd and blossomed very quickly afterwards.

IDW didn't skip a beat after being topped actually she got better. She's now IDW AKA The Four Tops

The two Hazes have overtook the OG Kushes in growth and are looking like they want to give IDW a run for her money. It's gonna be interesting to watch them over the next few weeks of growth explosion.

The Clones are in a cupboard in my kitchen (which may become the Clone Zone).

I make sure the fan is always blowing at the top of the canopy by resting it on a suitable sized box and adjust every week. I also use bubble wrap to kill the vibration of the fan on the box (Kills that loud Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm).

Also made the area around the air intake duckting air tight, light tight, smell tight.

There you have it guys, high tech, low tech.

Whatever works is the best tech.

Lookin good dude. Howcome you havent tied IDW down yet, you chicken ? lol
Well after I chopped her head off, I thought that was enough punishment for being tall, she's growing more slowly now.

The two Hazes are slowly but surely catching up so the canopy is getting more balanced.

I may end up raising the Kush’s on bricks so the whole thing is even.

But there's plenty of time for that yet.

ya but how is the node spacing? no way they are as short apart as with mh
Generally, inter node spacing is shorter with T5HO than with HID since you can get the lights a lot closer to the plants. Less distance to the lights = more intensity reaching the plants...well, reaching the tops of the plants anyway. HID is far superior with light penetration since their overall intensity is much higher.

Been following HM, looking good so far!

Lol, its just looking leggy so i figure shell be a stretcher :)
Well all I know is growth of IDW has slowed after the head chop.

The two Hazes are growing faster now and may overtake IDW in height.

So I know she has slowed and hope there is no crazy stretch.

If there is a mad stretch I can train the branches down Bonsai tree style.

But I made allowances for it tripling in it's height so, should be fine either way.

Yeah, something like that.

If it gets too close too the sun, wire the branches down.
Ya, just do the branches, and dont wrap em like i did unless your going to take the wraps off within a couple of days. I left mine on for 4 or 5 days and the plant had already grown into the wires a bit. Damn they grow fast. Wrapping the trunk like i did and bending the branches to where i wanted them helped though a little bit :)

Good tips indeed.

Alrighty, so it’s week 2 of flowering and I’ve decided to switch from the 4 foot 8 Tube T5 to the 400watt HPS.

Lets see what this bad boy can do.

But first I had to install my carbon filter because the ladies are starting to smell and I will need to be extracting the hot air created by the HPS lighting.

It’s a 5 inch neck Carbon filter, the ducting is obviously 5 inch in diameter also, as is the mixed flow exhaust fan, which moves up to 280 m3/h.

There is a bar that runs along the bottom of the tent right in the middle, this is problematic since you can have a pot on one side or the other but not in the middle.

To solve this problem I’ve had to use a low tech strategy to solve the problem have used card board squares glued polystyrene on the bottom and raised the whole floor area by half an inch, problem solved.

I have also used low tech (no cost) solutions to keeping the osculating fan at canopy level, as shown in the pics.

Connecting up the Carbon filter to ducting, ducting the fan etc was obviously going to be tricky alone, so I had figured out ahead of time that I would use some of that ribbon I bought to hold things steady while I connected everything.

Worked like a charm, got it all up and running in reasonable time.

Pics to follow.
