Here's an interesting fact

According to recent studies from Health Canada (Bureau of Medical Cannabis December 2011) of the 36,199 family physicians and 33,869 medical and surgical specialists practicing medicine in Canada (CMA Jan 2011), 4177 physicians supported patients' applications to possess marijuana for medical purposes. That is well below 10% support. Not that that is a magic number or anything, just a sad stat. And fuck off punkie!!!!

Just another example of how this law violates our constitutional rights to reasonable access. Why do we even need a doctors permission to use an herbal medicine? When is the last time someone had to find the 1 out of every 100 doctors that would allow them to use ginger root legally? How about this scenario...an old guy goes to his doctor and says his sleeping pills are causing unwanted side effects. It's determined that drinking a glass of wine before bed helps him sleep and is easier on his body. Being a low income senior, the old guy decides that making his own wine is the only way he can afford it. Everything is going fine until Big Brother steps in an says he must stop. They speak of horror scenarios where gangs of other old men might steal his wine and do unspeakable things to his family, the imminent catastrophic fires that will erupt due to the practice of wine making in a dwelling house now being illegal and the national security risk that mold poses. The government orders him to pour out all his wine, destroy his equipment and buy his wine from a source they approve. He doesn't know if the wine is red or white or if it tastes like vinegar, but he has to sign a contract agreeing to buy exclusively from that one wine maker for a year and be forced to pay what ever price they demand. Sounds crazy, right?

That is an interesting fact. Both my neurologist and my family doctor both will not prescribe it to me. Now that the government is revamping the growing laws I don't see any point in pursuing the issue, personally.

Are you already authorized? Can you find a nurse /practitioner maybe to help out?

You are forgetting one important fact. Cannabis is an illegal controlled substance. Wine is not. Ginger root is not. Not a very good argument.

Cheers Itsme.
I believe it's called an analogy. It was a fictional scenario, no need for facts.

You should get letters of refusal from your doctors, especially if you have a known illness or condition that can be treated with mmj.
It gives you evidence that you tried to be legal and were unable to find a doctor to sign....if your caught growing under this condition the judges
can not convict, since you have been denied a constitutional right.
You should also ask your doctor for a referral to another doctor who is compassionate towards mmj,
they have a list in house of who does and does not.
most will forward you to another but they take their sweet time about it...

Thanks for the info bud. They wont give me letter of refusal "because the current medication I take works for me" I grow outdoors, incognito style every year had crops raided (once while I was standing less that 20 yards away) but never been busted. I heard that health canada was recalling all past personal grow certificates this year (march?) then you'll only be able to get from health canada. I would rather keep burning as I have. I don't smoke for medical purposes, I smoke to get high and giggle ;)
