Hermaphredite?

I'm not sure if this belongs here or not but here goes. I just harvested some plants yesterday and this morning. I had some White widow and some Lsd. This is my third batch of white widow from a wonderful mother plant that I have. This was my first batch of the Lsd that I grew from seed then cloned. I still have some sour diesel in the same room that is not ready yet that the mother was grown from seed and these are clones. It is also the first time for the sour diesel. The white widow and the lsd have a single white ball at the base of some of the buds. In the first two batches of ww there was nothing like this and like I said this is my first time with the lsd and sd. They are so small that I have to look at them under a hand held microscope to see them good. They almost look like the plants where trying to put out some un-fertilized seed. I didn't even see them untill I was trimming and had the plants upside down. Is it possible that all 5 ww and 2 lsd all are hermaphradite? I don't see anything weird or funny on any of them other than the balls and I can't see anything on the sd. I did have a ph meter go bad on me and I don't know how long my ph was out of whack for. I think it was atleast a week. None of the plants showed any outward signs of stress. Do you think that could have been enough stress to change them? I run my water at around 65 degrees. And last but not least what is the safest way to post pics? I don't know if I have given enough or the right info so please ask questions. Thanks

You gotta post pics in order to get a good answer. Idk what you mean by safest way but if you're worried about the feds tracin your shit then don't sweat it. They got more "important" shit to do than to search thru endless threads and track down some small time pot grower. I don;t know why people on here get so paranoid. Probably cuz theyre a bunch of potheads..haha. Anyway, you can either click attachments and just attach the pics to your post or just copy and paste. Either way works fine. But if I were to answer your question w/out a pic I would guess that your bud is fine. If the shit is soooo small that you need a microscope to see it then its not worth getting worked up over. As long as the smoke is good thats all that really matter, right? Hope I helped bro. peace.

The first one is off the white widow. The second one is off the lsd. In the third one they are still on a white widow bud. The fourth one is an end view of one on the lsd. The only way I could get them to be visible is taking the shots with my usb microscope. They are sitting on my desk and that is the wood grain of my desk top if that helps to gauge the size. I think they are male parts. I would like to know what everyone thinks. If they did turn hemaphradite I want to go back and try and see what might have caused the hole group to have changed. I try and keep excellent and complete records. I am using a flood and drain set up with a fourty five gallon res., hydroton and GH nutrients.

Yea.. those are male parts, and from the look of some, they have already expelled their wo/manhood on themselves and any other girl in the area.

Look at the bright-side.. you have some nice seed stock coming ;-)

I thought they where male also. I actually crushed the 2 on the desk so we could see what was in them. The question is still what caused it, especially on clones from a known quality mother and all of them. I'd like to hear idea's. I know there probably isn't an exact answer but everyones experience might help me avoid future troubles.

that would be a little male pollen pod for sure. any little stress may have caused it: PH, light, over/under watering; etc. I have 30+ mothers and 2 of the strains have a tendency to toss off a few nut sacks during flowering ..... the strains are kick-ass, so I have a hard time killing 'em .... but replacements are already growing.

the comment on 'look at the bright side' .... personally, I would be cautious re-growing seed from hermied plants. the chances of getting more hermies from the seed stock increases IMO.

Hermies can be (& are) valuable when it comes to marijuana breeding.

All marijuana plants have the ability to hermie. Some are too sensitive and hermie at the slightest of stress.. Some can't be stressed enough.

If you have a sensitive plant, then no, the seeds will be no good for you.

But if this is a case of normal stress, then YES.. those are good seeds. They will all turn out to be variations of the mother. Unlike clones with the exact genes, in the exact configuration. Seeds from hermies are the exact genes in different configurations, giving you a small verity of phenotypes.

If you are in need of seeds and have the space.. I would isolate her from the rest of the plants and let her finish what she started.

Or

You can just pluck all the male parts, and mist your girls in the beginning of their night-cycle. The mist will kill any air born pollen that may have escaped.

Thanks for the info wolfman zen. I just don't have enough space to do the breeding thing, but I am interested in it. I Think my ph pen was messing up for a bit. When I finally caught it my ph was way out and probably was for atleast a week. I think they got stressed big time then and that is probably what caused it.

At first I felt this way, and still do to a certain degree. But..... this is only my third batch to finish up in flower and I have had wonderful results so far. Every batch so far has been an improvement in quality and quantity. I don't think this batch is going to be bad either. I need to chalk it up to experience. I now have two ph pens and the old put some water in a vile and put in 3 to 5 drops test.
