i'm almost certain one of my plants has hermied although there still seems to be a lotta female parts on it. the question i have is can i scalpel the pollen sacks off it and keep flowering till harvest. what effect will this have? yeild:, strength, etc. i am going to isolate from the rest of my grow( moving it to another house) i'm into my 3rd week of flower.

If you are showing male flower already you may be in for a long fight.

You can try and keep plucking or cutting them off. If you are willing to put in the effort then it is worth the time.

It should still be good quality smoke, you may end up with seeds if she self pollenates, and they will be hermaphrodite seeds.

Have fun and the best of luck.

if all the sex parts were removed both male and female would this stop pollination, that is; does the male sack when splitting land on the female part? or would it stress the plant enuff to kill it?

Don't take of the female. IF you do that then there is no reason to grow it.

Yes, a plant can "self". Knock it's self up.

3 weeks into flower, you'll be spending a hefty ammount of time plucking the males parts... No, don't remove the female parts, just the male parts... Removing the male parts won't stress it, but it will keep it from focusing energy on making seeds... At 3 weeks, i don't know if it's worth it to keep plucking though... that'd be a lot of work, but if you have the time, go for it...

Good luck either way!! :joint::joint::joint:

Dura don't worry about the sacks, look for banana-like male flowers either in clusters or singles growing out of the buds. The bananas start green and will turn yellow before they're ready to burst.

What strain do you have?
Who is the breeder?
Is it from feminized or regular seeds?

Tweezers. Just grab and pull them off the plant, chuck them out.

.

"what effect will this have?"

At three weeks you may just have ... a temporary hermie. A few strains will push out a few bananas in early flower then nothing for the rest of the grows. I've had this happen with several strains. With this type of hermie you pluck the male flowers (sacks and bananas) and wait to see if they grow back. Pluck them clean two or three times before moving to the next step.

If it's going to be a full hermie you can either pluck every day - I've had hermies where I've spent literally hours every day plucking bananas - or you can get Dutch Master Reverse and Penetrator. These are a foliar (spray on leaf) treatment that will slow down or completely stop male flower production. Spray only after you're sure the plant will continue to produce bananas after it is picked clean several times, but it's a good idea to have some on hand for late flower.

"yeild:, strength, etc. i am going to isolate from the rest of my grow( moving it to another house)"

Even if it's a full blown hermie you can slow male flower growth and pluck the bananas, very little loss of yield and potency. If you stay on top of the bananas it's doubtful that you'll get too many seeds, but a seeded plant will put it's energy into seed production over bud and resin production.

.

I've got a thread on hermies and how to treat them, if you have any other questions you can post them there or in this (your) thread and I'll help as best I can.

its the church bought from greenhouse seeds, not too sure of the genetics off the top of my head. they were fem'd seeds , the other four are fine and a cpl of my mates had good grows from them. i'm pretty sure that the plant was the little mutant i had at the start( i didn't label them:oops:) the leafs have always been a little cupped and the ph was higher than the rest although all plants in the same soil mix and fed/waterd same time with same amounts. i only found three pollen sacks on plant but i forgot to check flowers:wall:. will check all tomorrow. gaunna buy that dutch reverse stuff tomorrow. worse case scenario it'll be hashed up.:joint:
