Hermaphroditism

Hey everyone,

I have a strange question, I had 5 female seeds and germinated and grew them as I have many times before. Only this time when I came to crop them one of the plants was full of seeds in the buds. I had bought female seeds and this is the first time it's happened. The buds are still potent and have female pistols with loads of thc on them that gets you real stoned.

Now it's impossible this plant came into contact with a male and it definitely was a female plant, so not sure what happened. My next question is can I now use these seeds and be confident they will be females? The Internet has thus far provided me with different answers, I believe the only way my plant produce seeds was because of the stress my plant received during the final week of flowering and like I say it's definitely got smokeable buds.

The seeds were blue cheese and the plants grown inside in a grow tent as I have done many times before,I just don't wanna start my next crop only to end up growing some male plants.

Any comments welcome

Female plants can an will put out feminized seed without male pollination, however these seeds will most likely produce plants that do the same thing. A plant that gets its que to die ( start flowering) will sometimes put out seeds in a last ditch effort to reproduce without pollination.. Yes it true and it does happen. Environmental stress has nothing to do with it. It may help facilitate the plant producing the seeds it was going to put out anyway, but its by no means the cause.

Hey cheers for the reply, I don't want to end up with the same issue of having seeds in my bud, so is it not a good idea to use these seeds. It seems like a waste.

Well, I keep them and grow them on and off sometimes. I think it's fun to mess around with. The plants put out good medicine just sometimes with some seeds here and there. If you must have perfection then no I personally would not mess with it.

Once again cheers for the reply,
One last question, I intend to grow my new bought fem seeds in one tent and in my other tent the seeds that were produced in my last grow. Is there a possibility that the seeds I got from my bud could pollinate my bought fem seeds? I don't mind having a play around with the seeds I produced as long as it's not a 50-50 that they may all become males.

Thanks for your advice

Fem seeds are just Quote your best option of getting a female from seed unquote. Even with fem seeds you can end up with all the same possibilities as a normal seed.

Ok cheers, I'll give it a go and sex them to see if I can notice any males, then revert back to veg stage. This is like the old days when I couldn't get fem seeds. Maybe a slight element of risk involved, but the possibility to produce a good yield if all goes well.
