Hermi help!

First off I haven't grown from seed in over 5 years so I'm lost right now. I have a bubba kush 3 weeks in flowering. I picked the seed plus about 5 more out of a half uni of aa grade. Top shelf for bubba really.

Buds are swelling but I'm seeing the open ended sacs that look lie male preflowers. They're so small it hurts my eyes to view it. I believe it has a stalk. So pretty sure it's herm. But the same sac has 2 tiny pistils. So what is happening here?! I assume I should cull it but just double checking. Already looks so dank.

Thanks for a quick reply. The herm looking parts are so small my camera can't focus on it. I've found a few more right above the petiole. Also saw a larger pod with a visible stalk attached. The rest are actually in with the buds calyxes so the stalk of pod isn't visible

Sure, it is. That's what's tripping me out. The plant is super healthy top to bottom and just starting to burn tips. But the ball is barely visible in the photo and I keep spotting those tiny balls right above the bud leaflet. Looks like a male preflower but has pistils. I know what a male preflower looks like from the others I tossed in late veg showing stalked pods. These are so tiny tho. Crazy.

Are they swollen calyx?
I consider myself well versed in finding a hermie, they usually happen somewhere around week4 or 3. Look for any browning pistils, If you see some (that where not brushed up against) look closely in that area for a male pod. They usually hang under the bud. Sometimes laying on your back with a flash light and looking under the plants gives you a better perspective, at least imo.
Good Luck

Thanks green. I understand on certain strains the calyxes could be confused with mutant/male parts but this is a seperate entity. The browning pistils are a direct correlation to the area where visible pods have developed. They're remarkably tiny. Less than a pinpoint. Hairs started to turn over the past few days.

Also noticed some of the orange/brown tips on 2 nearby branches of a Chronic Thunder I'm running. I'm guessing I might get a seed or two in this CT. Shouldn't be a prob I hope

If it is pollinating other plants or pollinating anything, pull it. Unless you don't mind having a lot of seeds that will carry the hermie trait. The quality goes way down when the plant begins to produce seeds instead of bud.
Trust me they are hard to find, a lot of the time you hae to pull a leaf back to see the pollen sack. It not worth risking your whole crop, and it sounds like part of it is contaminated already.
I know it's hard but kill that bitch, she is shooting jizz all over your virgins!

Yes your last posts describe exactly how I found it. Glad I caught the little balls. I always thought when they pollinate its a larger(couple mm at least) open male sac. These are the size of a pistils thickness.

Anyway got her outta there in a sealed bag. Turned my fans off and sprayed alcohol all around where the plant was. Totally avoiding my others of course.

So now I'm wondering abt the plant that was pollinated. It may produce a few seeds but there won't be a chance for it to start producing herm flowers and further pollenating. Am I right?

I'm not convinced it's a herm and I've seen many of those fuckers.

Idk man. I clearly indentified a stalk with a pod on the end. Like a tiny version of male preflower you might see in week 4 or so of male veg plants.

What I want to know is it self pollinating? Does this mean the plant will only produce seed or will it produce seed in addition to giving off pollen.

So During slight lollipopping today I found that my bc gsc had about 5 open pollen sacs. At the lowest branches that I took a few weeks ago .. Guess that's how my bubba was pollinated. Seeds driving me nuts literally

I've heard GSC are prone to hermie. Grow some shit out that dank and not the most popular strain this year.Find a decent breeder and get some stable gear. Sorry about your problems, shit happens to all of us from time to time.Especially when growing from seed. That why IMO that finding a good strain/pheno that you like and then clone the shit out of it. Reserva Privada has some nice gear, my personal fav is Breeders Boutique. You can find them on RIU daily, and they are always happy to answer any q's anyone has. They have great genetics, but even with the great genetics, you gotta find your "winner" and then clone her.
Good Luck,
green

Yep you said it green. I definitely underestimated the effort required to find a viable choice through seed. Maybe they're throwing the pollen clusters from stressful techniques I use like Defol and lollipop? I can def say I've gotten spoiled having unlimited access to legit clones. Now at this location i don't.
