Hermi? Rep ++

Ok I dont have pics cause my camera phone wont take a clear pic that small..

Swiss Big Cheese strain (Feminized)

all plants are females except this one which I dont know.

Looks like there are seed pods on some nodes and pistils on most.

I am a newb could I be seeing something else? I am 100000% there are pistils on that plant. Its a bout 5 inches taller then any other of my plants.

Is this thing a male or a hermie or a female? Should it be removed from the garden, do hermies pollinate?

Thanks in advance rep++

sounds to me like you have a male... pictures would be exponentially helpful though, and allow for more than guesses on our part.....

i can say this;

if youre in flowering and it looks like a girl, but is producing yellow pollen sacs, then you have a herm.
if you arent very far into flowering and you are seeing signs of male sex organs, it is more likely than not, a male. (kill it or breed it)

dont kill it untill you show pictures or are 100% confident its a male, either way dont blame me.lol. ;-)

Yes flowering for 8 days now... Dont ONLY females have pistils or do males get them too. It looks hermie to me.. 2 internodes side by side one has "hopy" looking tiny pods the other has pistils.

I sexed 25 plants without problems but this one is just weird looking cause the pistils and the hopy pod looking things... I will try and capture a pic...

Thanks...

8 days into flowering. Only pre-flowers right now.... I see pistil pre-flowers on it and also hopy looking pods, ya know like hops that budweisers made from.... Other plants that these things appeared on were very clear and didnt have pistils this one as I have mentioned 30 times LOL does have pistils... Again I will try to get yall a pic cause I know its just a guessing game..

Sometimes the male flowers early on can have what resemble pistils, but without i picture it could just as easily be a hermie. I'd get it out of your room pretty soon to be sure it doesn't pollinate your other plants.

i agree... a picture and +reps are in order ;-)
Dammit I just came back with pics and I cant tell them out from anything.. I only have a camer phone.. Seems to be focusing on the branches and stuff from behind in the background. I will try after this hit :joint:.

Anyone have any tricks I can use to get a better pic? I will try and put a white piece of paper behind the internode I am trying to capture.

Thanks...

Basically its not focusing on the internode so its very dark there and cant see what I want you to be looking at... I have a friend that has a nice digital camera he will be over in a couple hours. In the mean time I will try to post what I have..

Thanks,

OK so I have some "slightly" better pics of the plant that is in question...

Again it strange there are white pistils coming off most of the top internodes..

Then some of the older ones dont have the pistils but have some growth there... Very few of these growth areas resemble seed pods though.

I am confused if this is a female, male or hermie.

9th day flowering..

hi mate, from what i have researched you can wait at least another 2-3 weeks with a hermie before it can do any damage to your crop. If you wait 1 more week then check to see if it producing ball sacks. If you do some research on google you can see what a male pre flower looks like and then you will be able to determine the sex. i.e male, female, hermie.

My research showed that hermied plants will produce both male and female genitalia. Male genitalia on this type of plant looks similar to male testicles and will be slightly yellow. Check google. Do some research, you have time yet.

Also there is some solution to reverse the genetics of a male plant so that a hermie becomes pure female again.

Hope this help's

Feminized seeds CAN produce hermaphrodites it is uncommon but can happen if you stressed the plant at all. Some strands seem to be my finicky than others especially sativas. They react to very small changes in environment while indicas tend to be resilient to changes. Heat, over watering, over nutrient, pests, too much wind etc.. the list goes on. If you control your space perfectly feminine seeds will have no trouble.

EDIT: Looking at your pictures it looks like you have a hermaphrodite but its too blurry i see balls tho and balls mean male. If its feminized seeds it cannot be male far as I know or u should be getting money back lol. As i said before it CAN be a herm tho

It seems you definitely have a hermie plant and a decision to make. If you choose to keep the plant and let it "self-pollinate" all of the resulting seeds are supposed to be female (I have experienced this event many years ago). Of course, you will want to keep it from pollinating your other females, etc. Good luck and I hope you have a bountiful harvest!

If it is a hermi I will remove it from the garden and destroy it. I decided to risk growing chronic so I get the best and no seeds ect. Hell its the reason I spent 300 bucks online with seeds.

I am just confused cause I have sexed male plants before its easy. This one is just weird looking. Honestly those could be seed sacks, honestly they could also be pre flowers.. Most of them have only one but a couple have 2 or 3 which is what makes it super crazy. Then again I am a nube and havent grown in 15 years soo its all new to me again...

It is only day 9 of flowering I am thinking about letting it go another day or two and seeing if I can get a better visual.

I will certainly try to get some better pics..

Thanks, BL

a hermie will probably not pollinate. I'm guessing that if you bought seeds from a good bank and they're feminized that it's a hermie. Only the males will pollinate. Also from what I've heard hermie seeds are feminized! so they may be worth saving...
