Hey Guys, found some old hermie pics from a friends outdoor garden a few seasons ago. Figured i would post them as i haven't seen that many examples.

Also i had some thoughts about the causes and if they can be reversed?

i don't have a whole lot of harvests under my belt but being around weed most my adult life i have noticed that outdoor plants will turn hermaphrodite on the top half of the plants while the bottom seems to remain all female. i do not know if this is the case or if the whole plant is hermie, i have never allowed one to reach flowering.

i believe that the cause is the sun, and too much direct light(over 10 hours) making the top's temperature far above optimal. This is just a theory as the plants under some canopy or close to other shade seemed less prone to turning.

Lastly i was curious if anyone knew or thought that when dealing with a plant that shows hermaphrodite traits on only the top, can you top the plant and salvage the female bottom half?

i would appreciate any insight or corrections to my assumptions

:bigjoint:PICS: females are pink males are blue

Hard to say, just keep an eye on it, over time there will be no doubt if it is male parts. If it is i recommend choppin that tranny down. A buddy tried one time to salvage a hermie by removing all the pollen sacs......it was a huge pain and the broken ends would start to mold which spread to the rest of the bud. In the end even with all his efforts the buds were still full of seeds.:wall: Plus it may have been responsible for seeds in his females!
