hermie hash help?

okay, so ive noticed that although i never caught any male pollen sacks on any of the plants in my flower room , inevitably somehow male pollen has been introduced to my ladies.

tomorrow will be the 6 week mark of 12/12, and today i noticed a disturbingly high amount of what seems to be "seed pods" developing upon about 90% of my flowers.

my camera is too crappy to use in a room with 1000w hps lights running or else id take pictures and share.

my objective is to make bubble hash out of the entire harvest. (this idea came to me after i realized what was going on)

but my question to you fellow growers out there is this. while i am starting the 6th week of 12/12 and am just beginning to see these quite developed sacks.

would it be beneficial to me at all to let these "hermies" flower any longer (for bubble hash making purposes, Potency/yield/THC content)???

or am i waisting my time, nutes and electricity?

thanks.
steven

I would def let them finish, but first i would pull a few random "seed pods" and make sure they are not just falsies, happens near the end on a lot of strains, will look like your whole bud is seeds, but its just the plant swelling with "excitement" (ok maybe im swelling with excitement, and they are swelling with resin). If they are seeds, i would filter it before making hash, unless you are just going to trash the seeds (i have a hard time doing this, hate to destroy even the most problematic seeds).
Your yield and potency of your hash should both increase by letting them finish. I would look for any more male genetalia, making sure to remove as much as you can. Good luck.

thank you for your quick and clear response.

i am looking for a few opinions to be able to make my final decision (not to say i dont trust an individual)

am just looking for someones opinion (hopefully multiple opinions) who may have experience in the hermie field.

I do have a LOT of experience with hermies, honestly started a second garden because my "partner" wouldn't fix his garden to get rid of the hermies. If you watch for more males you will reduce the number of immature seeds, and make more viable fully developed seeds. I have my own tech's for finding hermies if you need any help. I can grow out seeds that are known for hermieing and not have more than a dozen seeds in the whole garden, i am very good at identifying males. But i would stress again to pull a couple of what you think are seeds just to know, no reason to stress like this over normal plants.
Also, don't know how much experience you have with making hash, but typically for every 10 grams of product you run you will only get a gram of hash out of it. So sometimes it is better to just pick the seeds out and smoke it.

Check out my thread on the bubble bags most people suggest running the plant matter through once or twice but heck I did it like 6 times and got a good amount of hash... 15 grams for 100 grams worth of plant matter you can easily see the same ratio if your patient

Not patient, not at all. At this point i am looking into new, less time consuming ways of making it, running 8 bags SUCKS!!! If i don't find a new way to do it i am thinking about getting the 32 gallon bags a trash can and setting up a pulley system in the garage. Then i will only make it once or twice a year. At this point i have a couple of runs i could make, just don't have the want to stand at the sink for 2 hours making it.

your absolutely sure its a hermie and not normal swollen caylxes? if your sure i'd cut your losses and start over. from what youve said the problem sounds very bad, might as well cut your losses. If your positive, i find some new growers freak out and think some normal caylx swelling is a sign of pollination. Hopefully you are one of them.

although i am a fairly new grower (this being my 3rd harvest) i have never ran into this issue before. and i definitely think they are seeds.

i think Ive decided to let them go, ill be keeping a very close eye on them though. i think my original estimate of 90% may have been overkill and i do see tons of nice female buds. but definitely 50% or so has some horrible seed growth. perhaps certain strains were more resilient to the pollen? or perhaps they haven't shown the male properties yet.

either way i look at it, i think more growth will provide more bubble hash period.

i have the sprung bags, (which work awesome by the way) and i tend to run the material through the set 3 times before i trash it. any more than that and the hash begins to get gritty.

squeeze a pod or 2, if they are soft, no seeds, hard, seeds.

also check the pistils, if they have died off and retracted into the pod, its probably with seed, not necessarily though(some strains just do that), but if they havent, they definetly arent with seed.

any seeds from such hermyism, would probably hermy just as much. you could keep them in flowering, but any seeded bud will not grow anymore. im not sure if potency would be any greater, could be the thc matures, but probably it just degrades, making it a stonier smoke.

if you have plants ready to go into flowering, you might want to harvest the hermies (if they are hermies, you better be sure) but if there are alot of unseeded buds, they will continue to grow.

No, i do not have anything else to put into flower.
im moving so im not prepared for another cycle immediately.

but to answer your question, they are soft feeling when i squeeze them. but they still look like seeds to me lol.

They are not seeds then!!! Seeds get hard within a few days, at most a week. I have seen (grown) strains like this where it looks like seeds everywhere. Some of the best of those will grow out rattlesnake tails, where it is just calyx after calyx with only a tiny stem and no leafs. Those are my favorite part of any bud, don't know why have just always loved them.

yeah, i popped one out and squeezed it. its brown , solid, with black stripes.
i am 100% sure they are seeds.

pulled my 2 bubba kush plants today, but only found about 10 seeds in each one. (not too bad)
ive already trimmed them up but if i can get some good pictures ill be sure to provide you guys some good bud porn!

still have a couple boo-nanas a couple chemdawgs a couple goo plants and some blueberry/god X Hogs (my mentors strain)
the bubba kush plants just mature WAY faster than anything else i have on flower.

my camera and lighting situation sucks. bare with the crappy pictures. but here they are.
