Buy/use sterlized tweezers and pull the bastard off. Make sure you have a good flashlight as well, as you will need this until your grow is finished. Yank every nanner and ball you see, and chuck them in the toliet. If a ball happens to burst on your node, spray the exposed pollen with water (water will neutralize pollen). I've had balls blow up on my plant, but still had only a few seeds in the end. Also, once you get rid of the balls, they won't grow back.

Nanners won't become a real issue until your buds are in full development.

Yea I agree the end product is still dank, I had a train wreck that makes me retarded after a couple hits and it had a few seeds.
I wonder if the energy used to produce seeds, is noticeable. I pick the naners now. I run super soil and can't help think its got something to do with my mix. Anybody know if too strong a mix could cause a plant to herm. I think my guano was too strong. 0-12-0. The mix calls for 0-5-0.

ANY type of stress can cause a MJ plant to Herm. Stress is stress (over nute/light leaks/power outage/pruning/temp variance), and the more stressed out the plant becomes, the chances become greater for Herm activity. Some plants will throw out nanners/balls no matter how "stress free" your environment is, so people can make bad conclusions about their grow area.

In my research, some experienced growers feel that plants that are Hermaphroditic without stress are survivors, possibly causing the finished product to be more potent. I have no problem believing this because my cured bud was beyond good! But, I'm not totally sure about the scientific end to this assumption.

Another discovery of mine is that it seems to be, Hermaphrodites are more common on indoor grows. We all know that we can grow great MJ inside, but inside is not a natural environment. Just think about this 1 thing out of many; light. Most growers switch from 18/6 to 12/12 with no gradual decline. This alone is a stress factor.

Could it also be lack of stresses indoor environments have that "survivors" are taking advantage of? Think about it this place is awesome weathers great, foods plentiful no sign of winter I'm Fuckin breeding.

Seeds take a lot of energy from a plant. They are chock full of storage proteins, carbs, and other stuff, all of which require diversion of resources. Nice thing is, most of us so pamper our ladies with nutes and light, that it won't make a difference to the vigor of the plant. Now outdoors, here there are limiting factors, this could be problematic. Throw in pests and seeds become inhibiting. Dig?

FUck the hermi> Kill the bitch and on to the next one + make sure you aren't getting light leaks or it could continue happening to all your plants.

My intuition on this one... Dioecious plants probably want to stay male or female. In a stressed environment, seed production becomes paramount, so we would expect hermies, right? I don't think it can be applied to perfect environments.. I'm thinking about conservatories worldwide... All those perfect flowers just looking to get some, waiting and waiting..
That said, you could be right. Wish there was more information I knew about on this, it's interesting to think about. Let me look through the journals and ill get back to you if I see anything conclusive..

just want3d to throw it out there, that none of what i had posted pictures of were "balls" or "nanners", they were extremely fat calyxes and shot out like 4-8 pistils when they opened up.. but for those who said keep going, right on. for those who said cut it, fuck you.
that is all, over and out.
