Now if you all would hurry up and legalize, maybe we can follow suit.
That's subtly ironic considering our excuse has generally been, "we can't do anything unless the Americans do it first" as far as weed goes.
Don't hold your toke waiting for us, though. I'm concerned Canada just set that movement back a couple years, at least.
But we'll have to see. I'm somewhat pessimistic of politics by nature, so...

An elected Liberal government would begin working to legalize and regulate marijuana "right away," Justin Trudeau says.

"The Liberal Party is committed to legalizing and regulating marijuana," Trudeau said, in response to a reporter's question in Surrey, B.C., on Wednesday.

The Liberal Party Leader declined to set a firm timeline for legalization, but vowed to make it an early priority if elected on Oct. 19.

He said legalizing marijuana would fix a "failed system" and help "remove the criminal element" linked to the drug.

Trudeau went on to accuse Conservative Leader Stephen Harper of implementing anti-marijuana policies that allow the drug to fund "criminal organizations, street gangs and gun-runners."

"It is our intention to stop Mr. Harper's failed approach on marijuana," Trudeau added.

It should also be added that the former ceo of tweed has been linked to him for awhile now and tweed just bought out a bunch of other lps for growth capacity. So legal $20 a gram shwag is coming sooner than most think.

But that's for the rec guys as long as they leave patients alone now I'm content. They have given med growers more ammo for lawsuits if need be.

i think theres more important topics than marijuana that need to be addressed, not that the marijuana one isnt important but there are other things that the liberals will do to better canada that i can agree with whatever he is planning to do with marijuana as i know there is no way he will restrict medical patients

Have you ever seen a bike ridden backwards?
As I was watching Pierre Jr's speech, I swear I saw the moment where the little voice in his head said, "Hey...this shit just got REAL !"
I was also shocked to find out Joe Clark was actually younger when he became PM in 1979!
CPAC.ca is fucking awesome
