I hope that I can live to see it legal here in Florida. I feel like there is a new vibe in the air and it might be possible....hope so. They say that I'm a dreamer...but I'm not the only one...LOL

First time I got high,I was 15 years old, 1973, I think. I still remember, I played on the H. S. baseball team and on away games several of us would run over to the tennis courts behind the bushes and get blown away, then board the bus and try from cracking up because everyone else was starring at us. Good times!! Stopped smoking around 1980-82. Now I'm coming back aboard, been taking pain med's for last several years and looking for an escape from the pain med's. It's becoming terrible, they work to a point but you pay for it in the end, every year or so, the body builds up a tolerance and then I have to go to a different level. Anyway. the price for good pot, wow, its unbelievable, back in the 70's, good pot was in the 30's to 40's a oz. It was nickle and dime bags, now it's grams. I feel like I awoke from a 20 year sleep. So I'm going to try and grow my own. I'll be 56 next month, man, time does fly. So many flashbacks of good and funny times in the 70's. I'm from Delaware, the state that started a nation, not that place in Pennsyvania or New Jersey. Take Care, next time i'll talk about the time me and a friend hitch hiked to California from New Castle, Delaware, it took 7 days back in 1977.One of my best times ever and met some wonderful people. Could you imagine 2 long hair white boys with duffel bags walking thru Watts to get to Inglewood, Ca. Have to start a new thread about good times. Again, Take care everyone.

jjfw if you got the same pot as I did in the 70's it was all sativa until skunk showed up, and that was mostly sativa. You have all the indicas you could want to choose from for growing now. I do not even smoke sativas fir the most part.

For pain relief most prefer indica, so you may find a strain or 2 that suits your mind and eases your pain with today's seeds. Good luck.

Well this thread gets even better as it grows .. it should be the official old timers thread
i feel pretty young at 38 among the senior citizens here .. which is an added bonus
i was born in 73 .. the year Dark side of the moon came out lol
i missed out on the 1970s, being too young to remember it .. the big hair the big trousers and the brick weed :leaf:
hearing old folk talk about "thai stick" lol
the 1980s was not such an inspiring decade, the hair and the trousers were smaller, but the music was terrible
keep the tales of those past times coming folks, a good nostalgic read

peace :)

YOURE KIDDING. THE 80'S WERE FUCKING AWESOME!

Everything went digital. The TV shows were the best. And it was the best decade EVER for crime and mayhem. I loved it. Now everything is SO clean.

Edit: The 80's underground club scene was UNREAL. Never will it be matched because the cops and politicians shut it all down

My first car as a green 1962 Chevy II convertible. I loved that car! It cost $125 + 2. The extra 2 bucks was cause the guy I bought it from had to get out of work a half hour early to sell it to me (for some reason). 4 dollars an hour was top wages in the early 70's. Anybody straight out of high school (drop outs, too) could get a high paying job at the local GM plant. Have things ever changed!
My son graduates in December with a degree in chemical engineering and he's not very hopeful of getting a job. It's hard to get your foot in the door with no experience and the bad economy.

59 here in the midwest. Started smoking in '71 after joining the Navy. Smoked my way through SE Asia. Great Thai stick and Over the counter Pharmaceuticals in Hong Kong. Got out after they started piss tests in '81. Worked for 27 years at a company that required testing so I gave pot up for the money. Retired 3 years ago and started growing my own and loving it. Glad to see so many others finding that weed is good medicine for aches and pains of aging.

mae-yep it depresses me
whut da fuk did we do to the used to be great U S of A
it sadens me to look back
to when we were thriving
before outsource
befer japs walked around times square wit clip boards buying up erryting
when a college degree meant sumtin

then look at where we are now
howd did we get to this
we have fallen through our own ass holes
the countrys we used to blow up and kick ther azz
now we owe and are indebted to

we used to be around 3rd place world wide on a high school level education
now prolly in the 20's or 30's

we keep telling our kids to go to school
wit no jobs that has turned to a lost of time and money

better to buy a new vet for the boy when say in 5th or 6th grade
put in gurage on blocks covered
at age rest geting out of colledge wit thousands of dollers in debt
you take him to the gurage teach him to be a mechanic (not on the vet)
give him the vet to sell not to play wit
will have a sizable investment insted of a big debt and worthless degreethat costs as much as the vet
but the equity is not the same
