High blodd presure and alzheimer's??

hi, my mum has suffered from high blood presure for a few years now and hates taking the medicine given to her by doctors, they make her feel like s**t basicaly. ive heard herb can help keep under control but cant fint a massive amount of info about it being used for that? she has a toddler so cant have enough to het high but would like to try it as medication, how much would you suggest to start with?? i thought start with a small amount test BP and adjust accordingly.
also my grandad has just been diagnosed with early stages of alzheimer's, i have heard it can be used to slow down the symptons to some extent, any one have any info on this? and same as before start with small amount and see if it helps atall?
any info will be greatly appresiated.

i dont think any actual medical benefits will come from smoking other that what it creates in your mind. if they want to smoke marijuana or ingest it somehow and it makes them feel better throughout the day then there you go. they just have to try it. but you are on the right track with trying a little bit then running some tests but i dont think tests will prove it to be beneficial.

i was intending to cook it, and from what ive heard for a while after taking it raises your BP (thats with smoking cause it has to fight off the bad shit in ur lungs apparently, but is that the same when eaten?)but after it can help lower it.

I don't have factual data, but I had open heart surgery in 2001. My bp was erratic until I started smoking regularly just within the last 3 or 4 years. My last cardiologist appt 1 month ago, 120/80. My doc approves. Says the benefits outway the bad. (but of course he prefers me to eat not smoke)

I would be wary of using pot to control bp. Most of the chemicals used for this purpose tend to have long half lives in the body and so control bp for long and predictable lengths of time. If your mother doesn't like the pills she is taking it could be that she is taking too much, and there are a number of substitutes she can try if she works with her doctor. High blood pressure is not something she should take lightly or ignore but if she does want to try using pot she shouldn't eat it at first but smoke it and check her blood pressure every 15 minutes or so through the course of a 24 hour period and take notes. I would be more than curious about her results and I might try the same. Of course the problem is that I really don't like to smoke pot anymore unless I am in bed and looking to get 8 hours sleep. I truely wish I liked the stuff more than I do.
