High Electricity Bills

I have a question, I have one hell of an electricity bill. I am running an 8 bulb set of T5's and a 600 HPS and it seems that my bill has gotten a lot higher. Does it really take that much more electricity just to run these?

what kind of t5's?

but yes, that is a lot of electricity to use, especially if you are conservative everywhere else in the house. It also depends on your electric rate.

When I am running at full capacity, My lights, fans and pumps add close to $200/month to my electric bill.

Wow, that is a lot of duckage for an expensive but somewhat necessary hobby, even to me it is more than than, I don't sell or anything but I need it in a different way, may be it gives me purpose I suppose. I run a 600 Watt heat cooled with a CFM and the T5 high end with 8 bulbs and now I think I need another 250 watt to flower with. Man my wife is going to kill me. Is there any problems with the high bill raising any 'eyebrows' do ya'll think?

I really believe that that is not evidence enough on its own to gain a warrant. I could have reeftanks, terrariums, incubators, computers, these are all large energy consumers with excuses to be on a 12/12 cycle. now if the cops get tipped off and then check into it its a different story probably. they probably have to subpoena that shit. I just don't think the electric company's are handing that info to cops. most people that get busted via the electric company are retards who try and steal power. And if they are looking for grow ops through your power company you still don't have to worry, because they're most likely looking for multi-thousand watt grows. if you really get paranoid just have a few things on timers that are equal to the pull from your grow and set to opposite of your lights. that way it looks like a solid pull to the electric company, no 12/12 giveaway.

I run a 600 cooled by a 460cfm fan and a 4 bulb T5 cooled with a 225cfm fan attached to my carbon scrubber. I've got a pump for each of my DWC buckets as well as random other smaller fans and things and my TOTAL bill is like $66 each month. That's running a window AC during the daytime to keep temps in check too. Now that I've closed down shop my bill is like $35.

How much is your bill?

And on a side note of being concerned about a high bill, the owner of the restaurant I work at says the average bill for the place is about $3,000. I wouldn't be too concerned you're standing out as a heavy user

Hum, that is kind of strange I notice my bill has gone up about 200 bucks a month but I do have a built in pool that was running a filter way too much in my opinion (about 12 hours a day) I changed that to 8 hours a day and am thinking about even moving it down to about 7.

I am running the 8 (high end) T5 bulbs with a 600 Watt light and an 10000 btu A/C window unit with the CFM to cool the light. I didn't think Florida runs electricity that high.

3500kwh does seem to be kind of hi. But I am only doing this for myself, I'm not into it to make anything and I would say my bill has gone up about 200 a month without the 250 Watt and the CFM and the small fans and shit like that but damn I am trying to figure out ways to keep it conservative you know but there may not be any except common sense things. I am running 24/7 now and I think I am going to go down to 18/6, I just don't want to stress out the plants by doing it now.
