High power cob leds: do you hang them higher?

I'm running 18x20 roughly with 120 cree LEDs, I'm actually raised and angled all the centre LED so it shaped like a roof. It's damn bright in there when the rooms empty ( like when you're at the snow in a sunny day).
You can check my video on YouTube under goofy grows if you need some ideas.

Raise them till the IR temp meter registers a max of 30c on the top leaves. Happy zone is 26-29c with a rh of 30-50%, ambient will be less by up to a couple of degrees.

You can take readings throughout a 24hr light on cycle to roughly figure out the max DLI for your plant. There will be a noticeable increase in leaf temperature as the light energy is converted to heat when the plant reaches max DLI since the energy isn't used for photosynthesis. With that information you can figure how much light you will need at your canopy for the amount of time you want to run your lights on.

the basic 90 degree reflectors will give you a pattern at least as tight as any hps out there so its doable, just put your last row of cobs about the same distance from the edge of the canopy as the height it is hung.
