Internal Igniter I believe allows the bulb to heat up much faster. Also I think because it heats up faster you have to wait less time for it to reach it's maximum brightness. I think!!!!! Don't hold me to that!!!

Myself I wouldn't waste my time on anything else but a hortilux or solar Max bulbs!

Have you looked here for a bulb for your envirolight reflector?

Metal halide and high pressure sodium replacement grow light bulbs=

or here?

ENVIROLITE ENVIROLITES ENVIROLIGHT

or here?

no, i have enviroights in there!!!

i have 2 x 125 watt red spestrum enviro.'s for flowering..

i was just lookign for a quick and easy way to boost my lumens without forking out for a fuck off (high power consumption really heat up my wardrobe) ballast

the enviro's quote over 10,000 lumens each for the 125 watts, and 13,000lumens each for th e200 watts
does this seem realistic???

in contrast the hps in the link u posted quotes 16,000 lumens for the 150 watt hps...

one thing i notice is that the blue spec enviro. (that i use for veg) seems so much more brighter!!! maybe thats just the fact that the colour spectrum just seems that way.. i always think that the red spec ones seem dimmer due to th espectrum and if they seem dimmer then are there less lumens..

do you know waht i mean???

This is what I found concerning an internal ignitor:

Since the introduction of the high pressure sodium lamp, the requirement for an external high voltage ignitor has always been seen as an undesirable system component. This is particularly relevant to the lower wattage lamps where the inclusion of an ignitor in the circuit means a significant size to the luminaire which must house it.To satisfy this requirement, low wattage lamps with internal ignition devices such as this are produced. Traditionally though, internal starters are based on moving bi-metal strips such as in the glowbottle starter or thermal snap-switch. Both are inherently unreliable and frequently fail before the arc tube reaches its end of life.
