High Quality Carbon Filter Recommendation Please

High All!
I am using a VenTech 6" Filter/Fan Combo I got on ebay and have been ducting it outside.
All my cool air is also being ducted outside and this must stop. I must return the filtered air to the room to prevent my a/c from choking up.

As it is now, i have a slight odor and am hoping all carbon filters are not created equally. I think i need a better quality filter than the one than came with the fan but i do not know what to look for regarding specs and such.

Can someone recommend a quality filter that i can vent back inside that won't be too hard on the wallet.

not interested in refilling, baking or any of that, just want to buy a quality one without spending hours researching carbon filter specs.

Thanx!

I use AeraMax carbon filter pads myself. They work great and don't put out any carbon dust. I find that all I need for a 3'x1.5' chamber is a washroom fan with 3 layers of filter pad over the outlet hole, which is a square shape a couple inches each way. I was able to cut them to size and insert them in there, but you could also clip them on or whatever. Or you could put an air duct hose on it and put the other end in a hole in a box and put a larger piece of filter pad over a large square hole in the box. I just took the simplest route and stuck little pads in the hole directly.

I needed a dimmer knob on the fan to reduce the speed, the cheapest type. The objective was enough air flow for good growth but not enough to make a serious odor problem. I found that PC fans, even the 12w AC ones, just didn't move enough air with the pads over them so I had to upgrade to washroom fans, or simply "ventilation fans" as they're called on the box. The filter pads work well enough that just a few deodorizers in the room serve to cover any remaining smell. I put them near the fan outlet.
