Well said! If either Hillary or Obama gets the Dem nomination, there will be a flood of votes against them from Independents and Libertarians, not to mention all the other parties like the U.S. Constitution Party. The Greens? Not enough of them to matter. Plus, they are chasing rainbows anyway.

Today I think all of these are still somewhat in play. However, a super-candidate could come out of nowhere and turn this over. For instance, General Powel could come out of retirement and walk into the White House, if he wished.

Yeah, It's hard for me to believe that he didn't know, and if that is the case, then he is too stupid to be president. Before that, I had great respect for the man but when I watched that presentation with the head of the CIA sitting over his right shoulder, I saw a Puppet. I realize he didn't agree with Bush on many things about the war, but he should have resigned sooner to keep his credibility.

I dated a very well connected Black woman once who told me a very interesting story. According to her, and I believe her, there is a very large organization of wealthy, conservative, Black business people with power and influence in this country who's goal it is to eventually put a Black person into the White House. I asked her about Colin Powell, and she said that the timing wasn't right and that Powell is way to liberal for this group. So you can bet they won't be supporting Obama either. They won't support any Democrat. When the time comes, they will garner almost the entire Black vote in this country. It WILL happen ... its only a matter of time. Can you say Condi Rice?
