Hello I use one of those domes about 1 1/2 by about a foot.I recently watched a grow video were the guy cut two hole in the top.Claiming good roots in a week.Has anyone used this method of cutting holes in your dome.I would think it would dry out in a day or two.Any experienced input appreciated + rep thanks oregon024:bigjoint:

I have not tried holes in the top. The domes come with little holes you can open or close. I keep the dome on for a week then start taking it off for an hour at a time. By the middle of 2 weeks you'll see roots coming out the bottom (1" rockwool). If you want faster you'll need a cloning machine. Patience is cheaper and just as effective ;)

First off I should probably say that I have not had the best luck with cloning, but as I learn I believe that it is because my clones remain too wet. I have a homeade dome using a small cooler and suran wrap which does have four small holes in it. I don't add much water when I take the clones, but I have noticed that having them dry out too fast is not a problem.

Even a cloning machine takes about 10 days. Useing a dome and woolrock is easier. Your cloning agent has a lot to do with it to. I recommend CloneX.

After 10 days in the dome had roots everywere. And noticed I do have places on top to vent right on.This was my first run and so far 100% made it.Sticking with what works for me.THE DOME peace
