Can someone please give me some advice on lighting for seedlings please. I have a 4x4 tent with a 600w hid it has a 600w setting a 400w setting and a 250w. How far should the light be from the top of the seedlings and at what setting… any advice would be appreciated thanks everyone.

In a 4×4 , 400w hid should be enough for seedlings and vegging. As for the height of the light, use the back of your hand placed above your plants to feel the heat and adjust the height of the light until it feels nice and warm :D, start with 2' (60cm), if stretching occurs lower the light.

Personally ld start with the 250w and give them 3ft, watch them for stretch, if happens move light closer. I veg 24 so can get away with less intensity. You should get lots of different answers but seedlings dont need as much light if longer duration. You will need to check them a few times a day

I'd use the 250w setting with a 250w bulb and have it in the corner, I'd lower the light gradually until the temperature at the tops is 24/26c.

Best of luck with your grow.
