Hit the ground running!

Hey all,

Started my first grow when my bro gave me a couple of clones (1 Northern Lights and the other some Afghani Sativa).

Set them up in the back yard during the warmer months to veg for a month, brought them into my cold cellar, and initiated flowering under CFL, have 4 x 42w 2700k and 2 x 45w 6500k and 1 x 23w 2700k (roughly 11500 lumens?) anyways I germinated some bag seeds, and only one came up (Germinated as in threw in the dirt and watered, left for a week) I vegged that one under the CFL for atleast a month while the other two were budding. So were upto 1 NL flowering for a month, 1 sativa flowering for a month, and 1 random bag seed vegging for a month (and looking fantastic!) Went to seed shop, picked up Dutch Dragon and some free BC Big Bud. Germinated 3 Dragon seeds, 100% sucess rate.

Today two of the DD look great! very healthy, 10-12 inches tall (1 month old under CFL)

So were upto,

1NL clone, flowering almost 2 month, 1 Sativa flowering almost 2 month, these are getting ripe.

1 bag seed, flowering just under 2 weeks, (shes female! and almost a foot and a half already!)

2 dutch dragon, vegged for 3 weeks, started flowering under a week ago (still iffy on if they are boys or girls)

1 baby dutch dragon, appears to be a super runt, took 2 and a half weeks to germinate, seed was the worst of the bunch (black and small) so I had low expectations, but its fighting to survive, its about 3 inches tall versus the other two at almost a foot, all three started germination the same day.

The room:

basement cold cellar, work in progress!!! need to get mylar up, have basic ventilation but its working well, room stays under 28c

1x 70cfm bathroom exhaust fan
1x 12" oscilating fan
1x cheap Ionizer/filter/fan
1x home made plant tray

and on Saturday I picked up the big boy...

1x 1000watt MH with Sunmaster M.1000W.U37.WDX Warm Deluxe (3000k)

Going with a SOG, will use the CFL for veg.

I gave the clones too much nutes and they are a little burned but fighting back.

I use 100% rain water, never tested it or my soil, I have a soil moisture meter, I was overwatering them before I got that,, obviously still learning... Great site though, learned lots already.

Looks like both Dragons are girls!!! woohoo, got pretty lucky every seed so far has been a she lol

Thats awesome!! I hope I have similar results as far as 100% females...Hell Id even take 50%-60% and be ecstatic.

Today I squished the top membrane of the bagseed plant in effort to slow its horizontal growth, its growing furiously since being put under the MH light, CFL will grow, but boy does this beat the snot out of it. I don't even have white walls yet and the plants are loving it, I can't seem to find mylar what type of store carries this?

I notice this Sunmaster bulb produces blue on one side and yellow/red on the other, I have the move the plants daily, as they grow towards the blue side lol... Better for getting them the full spectrum too. Still need to find a roll of Mylar, cant get it at the hardware store... somewhere else?

I found some online for cheap at Myers(sp?) Custom Supply.....Got 10 huge sheets for like 9$. Came from CA but was really quick.

I picked some up today its the mirrors stuff not white, my walls arent smooth I'm worried its creating heat spots, need to fix that.

Now I actually believe 1 dutch dragon = 100% female but the other I think is a male, looks like its growing balls lol I am going to see if I can fix my good camera so I can show you guys

Mylar is mostly up, took a few shots with cameraphone, regular camera is toast

3rd is the female Dutch Dragon (exactly 1 month old)

male DD is in another room until I can guarntee its sex

Update today.

Plants seem to be coming along nicely, I used the instructions here to create a homeade co2 generator, I've consumed the clones, sorry no pics, but they were a learning experience, I got somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 oz off the NL clone, and about 1/4 off the other clone. (no scale )

Were at day 22 of flowering for the Dutch Dragon, shes just starting to show trichs on the main cola

and about day 27 for the bagseed girl, she is also mostly sativa from the looks of things? lots of trichs starting to appear around the buds and shes starting to smell a little skunky

I think eventually, if I continue this after this harvest I may switch to a 600w hps, I think this 1000w is a little overkill, room temps never go above 29c but pretty much stay there during the day and go down to about 17-19c at night as I dont have a heater in the room yet.

anyways the first 2 shots are the bagseed girl

Seconds 2 shots are the dutch dragon and the last pic has the runt dragon next to the female budding dragon. I started to germinate them on the same day! but the runt took an extra week and a half to germinate, and hasnt grown very fast, its about a week into flowering though because I dont want it to be too far behind its sisters. The runt is also a little pale, maybe just bad genetics, but if it's a girl I will probably keep it anyways to see what happens.

Looking good, a thousand watts is pretty intense. I bet they love it, just dont get it too close to them. Good luck!
