HLG 100 V2 vs. Mars Hydro 300

I'm still new to growing and I'm currently using 1 Mars hydro 300 in my 2x2x4 tent and I think I'm getting okay results, but I want better. I'm looking at getting the HLG 100 V2 and I'm wondering if that would be a good choice. I'm really only interested in growing 1-2 plants at a time, especially since that's really all I can fit in my tent lol
Should I maybe get the hlg and then use both lights in flower? If I get the hlg should I get the 3000k or the 4000k? Thanks for your time and of you need more info let me know

i would go with the HLG i just got mine a few weeks ago running the HLG 320 V2 in my 4x4 tent 3k. from what i've heard/read is basically if you want to use it as a 2 in 1 for both flowering and vegging run it at 3.5k spectrum. higher spectrums are more for vegging so the 4k and i believe they come in 5k would be good for vegging only but when it comes to flowering you want the lower spectrums if i am not mistaken like 3k and possibly lower?

if i recall correctly the color spectrum has a lot to do with plant growth like how dense the buds are, spacing between nodes, etc.. just my 2cents though the one i got didn't come in a 3.5k they were all sold out ( Hmm i wonder why.. ) so i opted for the 3k as a next best since i am not made of money and can't buy another light specifically for vegging and flowering. if i ran HPS or w.e. yea it's easier to swap out the bulbs and cheaper but i can't i already have heat issues running LED's.

i used to run a King Plus 2000W rated at 395W actual draw by the company online others stated 375W at the lowest. with the HLG they run at 320W and can go up to 340 i believe with the dimmer. at the highest setting the lighting is pretty crazy im sure if you swapped you wouldn't be disappointed. just my 2cents again. i grew my current grow primarily with the King Plus though only been using the HLG on it for maybe 2-3 weeks now and plants are close to harvest so not a huge benefit to them overall wise.

3000k or 3500k for veg and flower. 3500 will give you a bit more stretch and longer distance between nodes. 3000k will give you tighter nodes and a bit less stretching. I have 3000k
Its definitely a better light than Mars.

I think you got that backwards. The higher the K number the less stretch you will get. You’ll get more stretch with the 3000k than with the 3500.

Thanks everyone, I think I'll get the HLG for my next grow

So would 3500k be best for use during both veg and flower?
