HLG 260 V1 4x4 Coverage Question

Hello RIU! I just had a quick question regarding my DIY HLG 260 QB V1 lights. I have a 4x4 grow space that is presently in week 2 of veg. I purchased TWO DIY kits, and I just wanted to ask what intensity/height to set the lights to while in veg for this space (in general - I don’t have a potentiometer but I do have a kill-a-watt monitor).

I am growing autos, for the record. Also wondering at which point I would increase the intensity?

I use the v1 260 watt kit in my 3x4 space. I don't have a potentiometer either i just capped.off.my leads intending to add one when I get the time.

I find myself hanging the light kinda high like at 30-35 inches for the first 2-3 weeks of the seedling stage and slowly.lower the lights down to 18 as they increase in size.

Im just starting my second run with them and it was a learning experience the first round i could tell i was stressing the plants on occasion by pushing them to close.to the canopy and had to back off some till they hardened up some.

I have mine in a 2x4x5. It’s as high as I can get it and it stays there.
For veg I’d say turn it down to 50-60% and see how they do.
Going into flower I’d increase the intensity up to 100% over the course of 7-10 days.
