The lights may or may not be good but when you use language like this its a major turn off and unprofessional imo.
Bro I think and hope it's a joke. I just asked someone on other thread, I'm waiting response lol

I am very busy rn in the garden & decided to do a live test.
This here is the GGW#2 That was doing well getting a little of both lights 1/2,1/2 living life on the edge of the skirt wall. She was transplanted from tiny pott to 7 gall. & i, for the first time attempted to rebuffer my CoCo to accept white leds. Its the Theory anyways.
So, she was doing ok but gets center dry allot before the outside as is why I usually go to 3's then 7's. Being a busy bastard they get water to stay wettish. That ends up showing after a few times with pale leaves usually.
Anyhow, this GGW#2 Has been displaying unhappiness for a few days now. Shes been under the Trinity only. Last night was center dry n got water so wont be getting nutes fir another 2 days about. Pot is wett from initial soaking/buffering still.
Switching to 84X Now. GGW#2 Before switch. 20190619_174655.jpg20190619_174712.jpg The current smaller Fuel Bomb that was on a 6" pott fir 2 months. That it will be switched out for. Can only fit 4 medium sized plants under here. Under one 146w 84x.
20190619_174744.jpg GGW#2 Just switched over to a 84x at 27" to start. 20190619_174910.jpg The Smaller FuelBomb now in the Trinity Corner @ 32" away to center of plant. Running 400w. 20190619_174923.jpg 20190619_174928.jpg Another clip of that same GGW#2 Upon switch .20190619_174938.jpg Here's today's photo of the HGL GGW#1.
Once they get transplant both will get a calendar. If all goes well u can buy them at linkmydink.com. Why not contribute to the HybridWay fund? After all i did get beat by DogNutz Aka: @The Dawg in the no holds-barred party cup comp. Fucker.
Lol! Ill never let it go!!!:fire:20190619_175056.jpg Here is today's photo of the HLG , GGW#1. Got GnatNix last night. Will continue to treat preventative T-Drops throughout the garden once a week as it appears to be working on all the rest. 20190619_175136.jpg Trinity did a great job vegging these 2 SonicFlys, #1 & #2. Just pinched the #1 on the right so shes not to happy with me but she'll get over it. 20190619_175409.jpg Unfortunately No plants recieved ant training this veg, only a single topping & some were pinched more the others. The 2 comp plants have been pinched evenly although i may have to pinch the HLG against my better judgement because she's growing so fast n i need to be able to clear 2' to cover the 4x4.
Will get back to u all tonight to see if there's any changes in this Bitches Attitude. o_O

That was very confusing. Not really sure why anyone would think that's a good idea.

It's like the site admin version of drunk dialing.

Already mag deficient from the looks.
Can't see the pic reffering but yeah, they've been fluctuating were all in super small potts until just recently. Skipped a pott size. That's why they kindve look tight n skinny. Haven't had a chance to grow yet. Eccept the comp plants, they went to 3's when they were supposed to & now will go to 7's.
The smaller FuelBomb deff has some greening up to do.
Transplantal transitioning.
Oh yeah, after a mega dose too but with venter plain watering i see why.

@hybridway2

Wait, are your HGL lights still running properly?
Haha! Thats soo funny you ask cuz one day i noticed a staggered start on the arrays or discs. Almost panicked then talked to OneHitDone & Cammi whom confirmed they are designed to do so to prevent high surge loads all at once or something like that. Yup, they're good.
But they are no longer even in existence. Maybe shell put em on clearance.

Well, you better go catch all of them then!!!haha..............

Please toss HS no pest-strips^^ out of your grow room though, organophosphate type of pesticide, no bueno selling it? gonna flag some ppm testing if you're legit. black market is on your conscience if that's the venue, try to sleep well

Hey folks! Sorry so long.
Well, here's the skinny on these lights fir veg. As we are deff ready for flower all around .
Trinity: incredible amount of light & coverage. Its hot but as its a proto but still not to bad. Will take IR readings asap. Have a nice gun. Plants veg well under it. Squat & ight nodes. The comp plant has the gnats unfortunately so yes it did stunt its growth but not to bad & will outgrow it all in flower

84x's: Nuts! Great veg lights. They lack the coverage & efficiency of todays models but the spectrum kills it in veg.
I would compare it to my favorite spectrum led veg light, My Hydroponics Hut, except it grows them bigger, faster. And no matter what plant i put under them, it perks right up. At this point I'm literally using them as rehab lights for plants that aren't reacting well to the white. Like that tall FuelBomb on the front left.. I dont think its really been happy once under the Trinity & after i buffered the CoCo with plants in them at transplant, that was it. She was going downhill fast untill i put her under the 84x. After 1 day, the pic here, she looks 90% better.
The comp plants did not get the buffering.
HLG'S plant still had Gnats i was suprised to see so tonight it got the GnatNix. Which is out of buss. BTW.
HGL is forming a new line of boards & may be sending one or 2 to replace these 84x's for flower. I think that would be great because then they will have the coverage & efficiency to match the Trinity with the same RGB spectrum.
Ill update with any info i get on either companies lights.
View attachment 4351883 View attachment 4351884 View attachment 4351885 View attachment 4351886 View attachment 4351887 View attachment 4351888 View attachment 4351889 View attachment 4351890 View attachment 4351891 View attachment 4351892 Also grew the 2 clones out under the 84x's. Put one under the Trinity to make room for the soar FuelBomb.
All's good, rooms getting cleaned out this wknd n we should be in flower by the end of next week if all goes as planned. Not that i have a choice. These plants are pushing me out the door. Lol!
Any questions?
For me, one of the most interesting aspects of vegging under these boards is it proves you don't need "blue" (5000K etc) to veg under. There's a bit more stretch without as much blue to regulate shade avoidance, but the extra red produces more leaf mass. One day, we might all put to bed the notion that we "need" blue to veg under, or that there is a specific "veg" spectrum vs "flowering spectrum", when the main difference appears to be less stretch accompanied by slightly slower growth. We noticed this switching from 5000K to 4000K veg strips, and I am currently vegging under 3000K with good effect.

I did read through most of this thread, so please excuse the questions:

What did you end up running each light at in terms of wattage and PPFD? I know you moved them around a fair bit at the start of the grow, but did you end up standardising the light heights, PPFD and/or wattage draw?

I guess there are two ways to compare these lights: efficiency vs efficacy. Efficiency being measured in watts and efficacy being measured in PPFD. Ie, same or better results with more or less power, or same/better results using the same PPFD under each spectrum.

Clearly running the same PPFD will show which spectrum performs better. I don't think there's any doubt the HLG trinity boards are already much more efficient: passive cooling and some of the most efficient mid-power and mono LEDs on the market vs inefficient 3-5W LEDs in a housing with lenses and fan cooled.

So for me the most interesting comparison is PPFD vs PPFD knowing the HGL has a higher ratio of red to blue, but with extra 420nm and missing yellow and cyan.

Were both controls getting similar PPFD throughout the trial, and was that coverage fairly even?

Personally I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle: that full spectrum is desirable, but that certain red-green-blue ratios within that full spectrum may be optimal for growth and especially flowering. Many studies appear to support this.

And for what it's worth, fungus gnats aren't usually a big deal. If you've been using CX chitin, it will take care of the larvae which cause the most damage. The adults will still hang around, but they don't do any damage to the plants.

Lol, valid criticism, questions and remarks have resulted in censorship, bans and a whole drama. Why does this person do public "R&D" online if they can't handle the heat I wonder. Meanwhile a bunch of mouthbreathers on IC who never used a multimeter and can't keep their grow room clean are applauding the work and can't wait to start using yesteryear's technology again. It's like they are getting paid to shill

It's just stupid to do this on a forum. I just got done with 660+730nm custom design strips because guess what, literally anyone can get anything tailor made at ridiculously low MOQs in 2019 from these PCB makers. You cna't make a light marketed to noobs and expect smarter people to stay out of the ring. People are tired of this purple shit. I used a purple light for 14 months and I would never ever in my life grow under it again, the list of reasons is too long. I will wait until they get efficient enough for a 25% increase in yield and I can see the plants properly. That said discrete diodes definitely will be better than phosphor coated in the future, I'm not knocking it. These side by sides "HGL" relies on are as anecdotal as the shits I take in the morning. No offense to OP, anything I could do would be just as anecdotal.
(I'm not banned from anywhere, I'm just a lurker)

Could never match wattage here. Maybe on the new HGL boards as that would be the best true comparison w/o all the headaches of trying to line up two totally different animals. In the beginning i was lining up approx ppfd but it was hard to keep that way as they got bigger. Im not sure if its because of the large board size, the small direct light w/ peak spots, or spectrum related but i was not able to provide matching (higher) ppfd to the Trinity / Whitelight plants. They were happy with 3-500 range whereas the HGL / RGB lights were able to deliver higher Ooooohmols in the peak areas, but as you know it drops fast on the edges. So, in the end the ppfds are very close. They needed rotating more & there was one 84x over 1 plant.
If i turn the Trinity up to 525 watts i think it is, it would need to be over 3' high & plants be ready in top shape to handle the Brightragesnous of it all. Deff a whole new meaning to efficiency, thats fir sure.
270-320w is where she lay @ 30" Covering the 5x5 n then some with 250-475+ par.
I do believe the Trinity to be capable of a much better veg then i happened to show here. And will get another chance. Letting plan5s sit in 6-10" potts fit months isn't providing true veg info you can judge a basic veg on. Only the comp plants got normally treated but w/o the training I'd hoped fir. They'll get the trellis fir that.
I do feel there may actually be something special to the hgl spectrum tho.
That test plant from last night has nothing to show really. Its dry in the center again n will get nutes tonight . Ill update tho later.
I think the hlg plant may have gotten the gnats cuz i was feeding both the comp plants on the same day n the HGL one would be dry faster. Instead of hitting the hlg plant the next morning before work id end up feeding it with the hgl.
No more of that.
Kind've rambled on there. Did i cover the question?

apparently for trolling, aka asking the right questions, shows that, unlike RIU, icmag prefers profit over integrity
Yea...I just went and read it. Apparently if you dont blindly worship at the altar of "he who shan't be named" while also mocking Hybrids grow, you are automatically a bad actor who must be unilaterally banned from their safe space.

Pretty disgusting degenerate cuddle puddle they have going over there. But hey...that's just like...my opinion, man.
