Hole in the wall!

Have my tent and grow going and Im looking to vent the heat into a space in between the walls instead of battling it with my A/C as it flows directly into the room. Venting out the window is NOT an option, so Im thinking of punching a hole in the drywall and venting it into that space. The air is scrubbed so smell shouldnt be a problem.

What Im looking for is any tips or advice before I start digging into the wall! Its going to be 6" in diameter and the wall on the other side is a walkway and Im pretty sure there is a layer of concrete and the end. Would this work and when I do move, one day, is there a way to give the drywall that rough texture or am I going to have to buck up and fix what I can and pay for the rest?

the air you are venting is a moist air form the plant and soil and water you are adding. Venting that in between the walls will make your drywall wet and start to get moldy. Other than that sounds like a good idea.

I plan on being where I am for a year or two, at most. How long do you think it would take before it became a problem? Honestly, Id love to leave this apt. full of mold when I move and hopefully getting it condemned I hate the managers!

Probably wouldn't take long. You would be building the ideal environment for mold to grow in those walls. Even if you don't care about the building the mold would not be good for your health. find another place to vent - dont wreck the place!

how do you plan on forcing air into a wall if you are not going to give it an exit hole? that is like venting into a bottle. a little will leak out the cracks but it would seem to me that you would need a fan w/ about 150,00,000 CFMs to force air into the wall.

LOL.... I have been trying all day to find a great example of sarcasm online, and then, voila!

As a rental property owner I can say it's douches like you that are our nightmare. Besides creating mold, and, ummm not working your destroying property that isn't yours to destroy. I take pictures of my entire rental before it's rented, as do many other landlords. If I found that damage.. Which is likely b/c you don't know anything about drywall, I would completely sue your ass for the cost of having a proffesional fix it, then fix it myself
