The Introduction

This is a series of threads that revolve around a very sophisticated small scale automated grow, called the Holistic B.S.B.P. In this thread, I will be talking about my light set up and maybe ask the occasional question, in hopes one of you can answer it.

The Plans

I am moving in to a new house soon and i finally have enough space again, to do what I love doing... build a grow room... oh and grow something in it of course.

What I want to build is a dual flower chamber set-up, 2 x 1,5m x 1,5m rooms, each with a 1,2m x 1,2 grow bed, each with a single light, both mirroring each other and running on opposite light cycles - check out my "There Shall Be LED" thread here - keeping the power usage inconspicuously constant, regardless of daytime.

The size is chosen for practical, as well as security reasons. We run them as two individuals, each one owning one of the rooms, reducing the weight of possible repercussions, splitting it between two people. Also, the size is not meant to grow cash crop, but connoisseur grade material on a monthly basis, alternating between the two rooms

We have a separate mother room, where we have young plants in a vegi state, getting ready to be transplanted, while one of the flowering chambers is about to finish and the other is midway in. That way, we can harvest every 3-6 weeks, depending on strain.

Last but not least, there will be a small drying closet set up.

What is a bit different from this to other grow rooms is the air and heat management.
There is a window in the room, which will be completely covered internally, but open enough to allow air to come in, supplying the rooms with actively delivered and carbon filtered air from the outside. This air moves over a central heating unit underneath the window, the unit being automatically controlled to turn on, when warmth is needed in the grow room, basically heating up the air that comes into the small rooms. For cold winters, there are small heaters in the rooms, a dehumidifier and a humidifier help to keep humidity under control. The air out actually goes into my sleeping room through an attic, providing my room with fresh oxygenated air (CO² levels are measured and fans are turned off during CO² injections).
