i just did that and it showed a google map but it wasn't my house it was a city 30 miles north. weird

Without a proxy, just because it doesn't show your house does not mean you can't be tracked. Your IP is assigned to the physical address of your computer, if by DHCP on a temporary lease. It doesn't mean that your ISP doesn't know who had that IP at the time ... and often the addy you get is for a location of your ISP: the one that gave you your IP. Use proxies and even then be careful ...

I used to be in the hacking scene, and the ONLY real secure kind of a proxy is a socks 5 proxy somewhere FAR, FAR away...
What i like to do is hack alot of computers, and setup an undetectable socks 5 server, and daisy chain to switch every know and then... more frequently as my paranoia lever goes up

my wife has an account here but i don't know her user name. she only logs on on her laptop that is next door at her mothers house. i'm on a wireless router so i went to her profile and grabbed her IP. from the router. i copied that IP then went into the mod section and searched for that IP. no matches. i tried the same thing with my own and they did NOT match. the IP that i am registered under here is not my real IP. when i registered i used NO proxy and i am on the same computer. i changed nothing. i have no idea why it is like this but i'm not complaining.
