Hey guys,

I have my plant on a 12/12 cycle right now and I just found out today that it's a female, so I am pretty pumped. The only problem is that I have to go away for two full days. I don't have a timer so I was wondering - is it okay to leave my plant in the dark for 48 hours straight? If not, does anyone have any other suggestions as to what I can do? (Buying a timer is out, sorry.)

Thanks!

Well, how long have you had it 12/12 ? Couple days? Couple weeks? If it has only been a couple of days, you should be fine. If you can't run to home depot/ wallmart /K-mart / Lowes/ hardware store, and buy a cheap 10$ timer Which would help you out for the next 2 months. I don't know maybe have a freind or family member go and turn it off and on for you?
It would be hella lot more benneficial to get a timer, as Mj doesn't cope well with its Sun Rise and Set Alternating.

Other than that there is no other options. Besides Putting her outside, but right now where I live its way too cold for that.

She's been on the cycle for a week now. If I had to choose between a regular natural light and dark cycle for 48 hours or straight darkness for 48 hours, which would be better/worse?

I hate to sound like an ass, but if you can't afford a $10 timer, then you should re-evaluate your situation. Growing fine ganja is not a cheap hobby, and you are doing yourself and your plant a disservice by not providing it with the proper lighting schedule. Either way you go, 48 hours of darkness or light, you are likely to stress your plant and turn it into a hermaphrodite. Good luck, sounds like you and your plant are gonna need it.

:peace:

if you must do anything for 2 days solid give it the full 2 days in constant light, it will stress her some but it will be better than being in the dark. It can take a plant 2weeks average time or up to 6 weeks for them to go back into the vegetative state....
But your bringing risks into the grow that will do you no good by not having a timer. Get what you are going to need and then start growing, not vice versa.

Why not let natural light do its thing?
Even indoor defused light will keep it happy for a couple days
(Though timers should be used, even when home)

not a bad idea BBB Right now light times are flowering times for the hemisphere with the US in it anyways. Outdoors its too cold to use, inside isnt though. If you live in a remote area then you can open the windows in a room that gets good light and set them in there...

or will mom get mad about that? HE he...
