Nice work, bigman.. I can't believe that head bud - that plant had a helluva journey, and just looks great now. I'm really loving the Dyna Gro stuff too - works great, mixes right up to 6.5 in my tap water, and no burns or weirdness whatsoever.

Good luck with your new seedlings - I love the fresh start of a new set myself. And your root clone too -- I'm gonna have to page back to see how you did that. Cheers..!
Thanks Krieg, She is filling out very nicely. They had another growth spurt after the last feeding so I must be doing something rite! The Dyna Grow is working great for me because of the R/O water I use.

The root clone was a accident. The roots were left behind from a plant I sacrificed eirlier and I topped the pot off to use as a guide for my watering routine. I just happened to notice a stem starting to pop out and could not believe my eyes.:-o I had not heard of this myself but a couple RIU'rs helped me out with some information and it appears that it is possible but it usualy takes alot longer to do than a leaf cutting.

Anyway she is doing great in the new veg box and just started to take off again after the light schedule change back to veg.

Gonna try and keep her short and flip her to flower when I harvest my girls.

Keep em green!!!

So it's Day 42 and thing's still rolling. they are fattening up nicely and the trich's are really showing now. Still feeding them with each watering with a reduced batch. This time I added a little molasses to the batch to help out the soil again.

Finally broke down and took a taste of one of the girls. Gotta say I am pretty impressed. Nice head high that lasted quite a while. First time I ever smoked something I grew.:bigjoint:my wife couldn't believe that it came from my garden as she call it. She said its like going and picking a tomato from the garden. :weed:

Seedling's doing well and the clone is really taking off. Five of the seven broke dirt, so know I have a forsure female and hopefully at least one maybe two more females in the bunch. Three would be awesome. but I am not going to get greedy.

Anyway, heres a couple pic's! Pic 1 is from the 12th and pic 2 was today.

Keep em green!!!

Thanks Kriegs, Rock for stoppin in. Just could not help myself on the early sample. Like I said, never smoked anything I grew so had to try it out. I got it out of my system and were back focused on fattening them up.:weed:

Gonna keep an eye out for any signs of a hermie starting to develope? :o

Keep em green!!!

It is interesting to take some little smokes along the way. I sampled some early sativa bud last year around 5 weeks -- the buzz was like some kind of cheap amphetamine or something. Very jittery, racy and not all that pleasant. But strong, though.... freaky. That definitely convinced me to keep my hands off for awhile. No way did I want any quantity of that shit.

Those plants did turn into really nice smoke over time. I harvested them gradually over 4-5 weeks and ended up with 3 clearly different varieties of smoke from the same plants.

Four weeks post 12/12, and right at the end seem to be the worst times to get hermie balls. To me, there's a diff between getting a ball or two (any MJ plant can do that and it doesn't mean it's "a hermie"; just pluck them off), and having a REAL hermie (a plant that just blows balls all over the place). The majority of what I've seen on RIU being called a "hermie" is actually the former -- a normal plant just struggling to reproduce in the absence of a male. I see a lot of peeps using that as an excuse to cut early; I don't think that's necessary myself.

Hey Kriegs, You were rite. Shit does roll down hill. lol Not to bad though. Got a little over zealous with the feed I guess. Didn't up the amount but it seems it might have been to much in a row. trying to feed a slight amount with each feeding but I do not think they can handle it? I remember you saying in a earlier post about how a underdeveloped root system makes them easier to over fert, over water and such. Well I may have reached there limit. Anyway, I flushed em both really well so we will wait and see.

As far as the hermie thing? Dont think I would let a couple balls or maybe even a whole bunch of em make me panick and go to chopping. even if I do get some seeds it won't be that bad. What I have sampled was as good as any mids we get around here so even if it didn't get any better I would still be happy.:hump:

Stopped by your thread and that bud looks yummy. Looked like a little chistmas tree before you trimmed the leaves a little more.:p

Tryin to keep em green!!!

Hmmm.. wasn't me that made the "underdeveloped root" comment; have to think about that one. What are they showing? Spots, curls, burnt tips? Pop up a pic if you can.

My bad, It was when we were talking about lighting.

"Well, it looks like you've def saved yourself some money. Don't know that I agree on having to prove yourself with CFL's first, though. I went 400W HID right out of the box; never grew anything indoors before. Having some serious light power eliminates rather than creates challenges, IMO.

You get bigger plants faster. A bigger plant is more resilient to everything - over/under watering / nutes, bugs, etc.

Of course, I would say that if you can succeed under CFL, you should DEF succeed under HID..:hump:

To everyone their own... just sharing some thoughts. Your plants are looking good now - that's what counts.. Cheers!"

The leafs are cupping upwards like they are praying. Will try and get a few pics up tonight. Oh ya and I just found some seeds growing around the base of the plant I didn't cut. Well it looks like they are in survival mode. Picked off a couple ball sacks? Gonna let them finish but I am gonna try and keep the seeds to a minimum. After all I have done to them I am surprised they didn't show earlier.

Well it's the start of week 8. The girls are just plugging along and fattening up nicely. Flushed em again on Sunday and gonna wait and see what happens.

Since the seeds are at the base of the plant I think I am going to cut the cola's off her and leave the lower seed buds to develope comepletely.

Couple pics but they don't show much. Threw in a couple of the root clone. She is coming along great.

Seeds! Cool... I did some seeding this year on purpose. I'm still waiting to see the results. They do take a long time to mature. I teased one out about a week ago - curiosity got the best of me. It was almost ready after 8 weeks in the bud, but it was a little pale and still needed a little more time.

Looking good otherwise; those root clones are freaky. I'm going to bury my root balls outside this year to see if I can pop one or two of those.

At first I was way bumed about the seeds.:-( But after doing some reading and a couple peoples replies to my "what do I do now" question, I changed my mind.:-P

The clone is a freaky looking thing though. She is green like a Mo Fo. and I only give her a 1/8 dose of the Dyna Gro 2 waterings ago. This last watering was with a little cal. and some epsom salt's in a reduce amount. I also airated the water for 24 hrs before I watered.

Keep em green!!!

Ok so I cut down the first of my girls yesterday at day 60!:weed: Things were going south for her for awhile now so I didn't want to wait anylonger for fear she might get worse. You can see amber all over her so I thought it was a good time.

I don't have a scale so not sure what the weight is but don't realy care. The smoke is realy good with a combo of a nice head and body high. I figure with what I have sampled already and what is left it should run about 3/4 of an OZ dry. After what I put them through I will take it.

Here is a couple pics of her.

I had 6, 45w cfl's and it worked great for veg but after flowering for 6 months with close to no buds I tossed em...and got a HPS....other than veg I don't understand why people would waste their time with CFL's when you spent about as much as a cheap 400w HPS on cfl's and supplies...though I must say I have seen some great results...I wonder what I did wrong? this time my shit looks great.

Thanks for stopping in Alterd. Ya know I gotta agree that cfl's are probably not the best light source for growing, but it can be a cheaper way if you are handy and resourceful when it comes to your set-up. I figure I have around $90.00 into my cab and lights. Most of the items were second-hand from used stores like Goodwill and the Salvation Army or from the trash. The only thing new I purchased was the bulbs and the y splitters.

The main thing I learned from this grow is that it is the sum of all things that make for a successful grow, not just lights or super charged nutes or what type of soil your using.

If you learn to read your plants and understand what makes them tick, than you will be successful. This applies to not only M/J but all plants as well.

Thanks again,

:peace:

An awesome looking bud Bigman. A great result with CFL's. I hope mine turn out half as good.
Thanks for the compliment Rock. I was pretty happy with the way she turned out. I still have my other girl going and hope to chop her in a week or two.

With M/S and Stelthy helping ya , you will get there. If it wasn't for the help I got from people here I would never have reached this point.

Keep em green!!!

hey big nice stuff,.I am having problems!!!! after i germinated the seeds a place the taproot down in a small 'pot' ( the planting kind, not smoking). I have been unsucessful in getting them to sprout. I have 4 100w cfl lights, and i have been trying different things out. right now i have 2 of the lights on a 18/6 cycle. I water everyday with no luck. Im going on week 3 trying different seeds and different lights.

Please help!Any ideas? i have some 6 day old seeds under light now. Im using a m/g soil to prevnet under/over watering as this is my first go at a stealth box. (p.s. i have intake/exhaust fans and the inside is lined. it stays about 78-82 all the time in there.

Thanks for any help!

First 2 mistakes, using MG soil and watering everyday, you have most likely drowned em. Also consider the temp of the medium at this point is important. You should let em dry out don't water for at least a week and be prepared to start over

Hey Big, harvest looking good my friend got a new thread to share check this out
