Homeland Security Says It Has Every Right To Spy On Peaceful Protest Groups

The Department Of Homeland Security has concluded that it is perfectly reasonable for it to spy on dozens of peaceful advocacy groups and monitor scores of lawful protests and political rallies in the name of national security. How do you feel, is it cool, when is it "reasonable"?

I think their role in any group should be of observer only. I am not in favor of covert participation. It's a waste of taxpayer monies.

We are flirting with McCarthyism again. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McCarthyism

Make no mistake there are those who constantly push to turn the USA into a fascist state and defend these acts as patriotism.

Well about time they go after those Tea Parties people. Those people had that protest on the national mall and left it cleaner than it was before they got there. Not like all the unions and democrats that had a party on the national mall and left it trashed as shit. Yea time to stop the shit whos side are you on. The trashers are the clean up crew?
Just like in wisconsin the bastards should pay for the clean up the sorry bastards. Fuck them I hope they lose every thing.

The patriot act is just uber-laws. A Super Set of laws that over lay the Constitution.

Can any of us see the framework being laid for the future?

More poverty and loss of rights? Not a coincidence it's a plan.

They are welcome to walk around and listen in on as many public conversations as they want. Are they talking about wiretapping?

Task & ernst... you guys don't ever seem to have much to say about weed. what's up with that? all you two jokers seem to do is post right wing infowars flavored bullshit that we all know is John Birch Society propaganda... I sincerely hope you don't have designs on using THIS forum to further some fucked up racist agenda. Our bullshit detectors are quite honed around here.

Oh, Let me blog at ya.

I did the 2010 election cycle over at Icmag and what became clear is that two camps hang out and debate the cannabis stuff. Lefties and righties.

We all say we want to legalize but it boils down to decrim and legalize.
People who want profits over individual freedom tend to argue to the right and those who want legalization tend to argue to the left so we do jabber back and forth about the degree of right and left as a mater of sounding people out.

I have the position of the Five things http://california2012.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=202 on that site..
I am promoting just for the people legalization in 2012 http://www.ocregister.com/opinion/marijuana-290505-use-legalization.html?cb=1299615249 and generally trying to understand ( sound out ) people too.

So I think you will find my position on Cannabis fairly clear. I'm guessing you are going to check out those links.

Not perfect no way but I am willing to get in and slosh around.

So far I am the only one calling for a simple first step in a process of gradual legalization.
I believe, since I live in Stanislaus county California, that I understand what the No voters are thinking.
They are not ready for open industry and they want some control so they can exercise their "not in my neighborhood" policy. That is why it will only work if we grant people rights and wait on industry. It will give people a few years to adjust after they have to accept that we have rights to cannabis.

So to pass anything in 2012 we need to avoid the "all or nothing" approach that the two prop 19's attempted and go with a prop 215 type of thing that grants proper horticulture rights to the individual and so on : see the five things.

I'm thinking you haven't read a lot of what I post.. Oh well I post a lot and have for years.
Besides that I gathered signatures for California Cannabis initiative which was not funded and didn't get going. http://californiacannabisinitiative.org/

So I do a lot but it is vitally important to keep in touch with the people.

So in short this tension between the polarities is akin to the groups that support cannabis in some way and often for different reasons from what I can tell.

Did I do okay?

Its fuct. Violating personal liberties just to justify the unnecessary theft of taxpayer dollars in a time that such activity cause direct danger to the lifestyles of all future americans and our decendents. People will die of hunger in the street because of the culmination of all this unnecessary spending. But its not so much their fault, as the fact that they ask for it and they get it with no oversight to ensure people arn't just trying to justify more money next time. Its absolutely embarrassing that we justify invading personal liberties (which define Americans) in order to justify wasting tax payer dollars. the "I got mine off the government carcus" scenerio not realizin they are taking a bit out of all of us.

For other uses, see Agent provocateur (disambiguation).
Traditionally, an agent provocateur (plural: agents provocateurs, French for "inciting agent(s)") is a person employed by the police or other entity to act undercover to entice or provoke another person to commit an illegal act. More generally, the term may refer to a person or group that seeks to discredit or harm another by provoking them to commit a wrong or rash action.
As a known tool to prevent infiltration by agents provocateurs,[1] the organizers of large or controversial assemblies may deploy and coordinate demonstration marshals, also called stewards. [2][3]
Interesting.. Sort of a Spy vs Spy..

I agree with you that we can do better than we do.

I think its fine.. however, it seems almost like the further into the future we get, the more and more the government is trying to take over everything and take away our rights as citizens. I think it boils down to this... the U.S. government needs to just do its job and nothing more. They need to only worry about what they're suppose to be doing.. instead of trying to take over health-care and everything else. They need to stop lying about shit.. and just come out the very first time.. with the CORRECT version of the story, whatever it may be.. just tell the truth the first time.. don't try and cover up certain things and events. That doesn't do anything except angry the citizens of this country.. and certainly doesn't help anything.

As far as Homeland Security agencies.. I think they too just need to do their job and don't take it overboard. They need to do whatever they need to do, in order to protect the U.S.A. homeland from future terrorist attacks.. not only from the East.. but also radical groups that could develop home brewed terror groups and carry out terror attacks against the U.S.A. on U.S.A. soil.

I also think that the U.S. needs to stay the hell out of Libya's fight. Let Gadafhi figure it out.. we're still over in Afghanistan and all that shit, fighting that stupid war. The last thing our economy needs right now.. is a delay recovery due to the brainless moron we call President Obama and his ignorant thoughtless ideas. He needs to help... sure.. I mean innocent people are being killed over there... but we don't need to start a new war right now. We don't fucking need it!!!! I'm just getting tired and tired physically and mentally of constantly hearing negative news. It's like thats all they fucking talk about you know?

IMO, I think the U.S.A. is headed for disaster. I'm not saying 'The End of time" is coming.. but I really do think something bad's going to end up happening fairly soon. Rather it be an economic shutdown, a partial government shutdown... who knows. But something isn't too far off from happening.. it'll be something that will drastically change how we humans think.. as well as other aspects. It'll be something that will drastically change the way we all live.. from day to day.

Until then, I will continue growing and smoking my herbs! (and probably after! well, yes.. I still be growing my 2 or 3 crop garden..)

peace..
