yeah i get you allforit. it's an interesting game this lst stuff, i think the ultimate lst is bonzai, basically guiding the plant to look like what you want. by the way, love sublime. good stuff.



speaking of lst, i just did some major lst tonight (*after* watering this time). the "modified crop circle of bud" is almost complete, and the plants are lowww to the pot. curious what you all think....

thanks bro. i am pretty proud of the training i've done. i think lst'ing after watering did make a difference in terms of how pliable the branches were. in retrospect, i might have done things a bit different from the beginning... the way i trained required the main stem to go out to one edge of the pot, and then its branches to reach (almost) to the opposite edge. that probably extended my veg period by an extra week. i think a better approach is to fim early, and bend the main 4 branches down to the sides, that way much less distance needs to be traveled. in any case, given my initial decision, i think it's come out looking pretty nice!

i'm pretty much ready to switch to 12/12... unless somebody thinks it would better to wait a few more days, so that the bud sites settle more in place facing up (if that makes sense)?

timing-wise now is a pretty good time to start... amnesia is a 10-week'er from what i've ready, so approx 11 weeks of 12/12 would put me at an april 24th harvest for amnesia (give or take), and a couple weeks earlier for blue cream. that sounds just about right

also micro.grower, if you're out there, i couldn't've done that trim job without using your thread as guidance. the trimming of fan leaves definitely helped to expose new bud sites. thanks buddy!

Damn Homer your plants are beauties. that LST job looks amazing, I think I'll use your techniques on my blue Mystics. How much you expect off of each? Respect man.

i've learned a lot about lst in the past few weeks. i can give you these pointers:
1. start early while the stems are pliable
2. be gentle but firm. the weed is strong, it'll sustain a lot of pressure, but you can't force it too much.
3. keep in mind that as soon as you make a branch horizontal, it'll pretty much stop stretching, and instead it'll sprout new branches that grow vertically.

as for yield, i'm thinking about 1 oz off each plant... i'd be pretty stoked with that!

I'm on day 5 with my lil girl (I hope they are, supposed to be fem but we know how that goes), and shes still really little just starting to get her second set of leaves. And thats what I want off my girl, a z. Hope everything goes well with your beauties. Respect man.

Hey everyone, big changes tonight...

12/12 begins!

here's the new lighting scenario:
- two 24-watt T5 bulbs at 3000k
- two 24-watt cfls at 2700k
- two 24-watt cfls at 6500k

total 144 watts, like my first grow. will probably add at least two more cfls (2700k) later.

yesterday's trim job did wonders for the new growth! i'll post pics soon. right now it's past their new bedtime, shhhhh... lol, so stoned right now.

happy grows everyone, hope to be reporting on some new bud sites very soon!

looking good man, looking good! I like how close the plants are to the containers, that helps alot I think for smaller grows like we are doing. Gives you plenty of room for the plant to grow so nice tall cola's! Congrats on the 12/12! Can't wait till she starts filling out! By the way, did you do a dark period before you turned the lights? I'm just curious if that is needed or not. I didn't do it my first grow, and it seems to take forever to start seeing flowers.

thanks buddy! no, i didn't end up doing an extended dark period because to do it properly would require me to flip to "on" at night (that or do 36 hours dark which i find risky). so i just put them to sleep early tonight (8:30pm instead of 11:30pm) and they'll wake up tomorrow at 8:30am and be like, what the fuck?? all this red light??? better start budding!!!! lol.

I was planning on trying between 6 - 8 depending on how crowded it looked in my 2x4 tent. Does that seem reasonable?

Oh shit, the boat left without us!!!!! Hurry up and Bud!!!!!!!!...lol...For future reference, I actually ended up doing about 48 hours of dark period before I threw Lefty and Righty into 12/12...Because I blew up my circuit breaker, no choice of my own, but my girls showed some sexy hairs after one full day in 12/12...Yup. 24 hours and pistils. Personally, I don't think the 48 hours of darkness made them show so soon, cause they were already 60 days old, but it definately didn't hurt at all if you're worried about a 36 hour dark period.

Glad to here they are doing well bro. I am still undecided yet also about the whole darkness thing. I am goign to put my girl into 2-36 hours of darkness right before i harvest her. I will compare hwo much resin she has before and after and see if I notice a difference.

wow that sounds like an ambitious plan! but if you've got the lights and everything, go for it! it might get hot in the tent though, depending on what lights you use...

hey meta, yeah you're probably right, i coulda done the 36 hours with no prob, but oh well... if it takes an extra few days to show flowers, that's ok by me unfortunately i get home tonight after their bed time, but tomorrow morning i can't wait to see what's new...

hell yeah man.. i luv how you have that sativa under control... good to see it working for ya... i strongly believe in the dark period thing... i think i went with 36 hours of dark before flowering and 24 at harvest... with the lights bein on at night, its prolly something i.ll do... its keep odor control down during the day with the fans off and what not... just something i noticed last grow.. i didnt hardly smell anything at night, but my wife complained about the odor being outta control during the day.. just a thought.. i may have my mother box going most of the day, and flowering box on at night... who knows...
