just a quick question about oil. Doe sit matter if the bud is cured properly? I know it has to be dry, but say I harvest and don't want to wait a month to smoke. Could I take some of my buds, as sson as they're dry and do this or will I get the chlorophyll? Basically, is chlorophyll and those ather harsh natsy tasting crap thats in uncured bud dissolve in the butane (or ISO if I use that)?

if you use the best butane it doesn't seem to gwt any chlorophyll. the cheaper butanes make green and brown oil the better butanes make gold oil. so i'd say if you used good butane then you don't have to cure it. just make sure it's dry.

did you read the tutorial? it's pretty easy, step-by-step.

yeah i did my bad. but after taking another look it seems that screen is slightly thick. should i like fold the coffee filter in half so it is like double?

of the few people who have given me rep. only 3 people have actually given me points.

so i just made my oil. it all looked pretty good and was starting to crystallize then i stirred it and when i came back (like 15 mins) it had dropped like 12 degrees outside and had become very wet looking like a tar. i brought it in and am hoping it will dry back looking nice again but i stirred it again and it really still looked very tar-like hope i didn't mess it up will post pics later when i see what happens.

oh and i had a problem where the butane wanted to shoot out of my seals any way i could fix this next time?

Oil won't crystallise straight away. You can smoke it fresh too, I do it all the time.

I put mine in the freezer (the bowl) for around 20-30 minutes. Make sure you cover the bowl. Then take it out, get a knife and you can scrape it all easily out of the bowl.

well here are the pics of the process. as you can see it look beautiful in the forth pic but what i see now is in the last pic it looks like trash and almost like a straight tar that doesn't look to be easily scrapped off. what to do? been setting at least 2 hours now. and it only looks like enough to top maybe one bowl now compared to in that one pic where it looks good.

i cover it with a loose fitting glass lid and save it for next time. that's how i figured out how to make caramel. after a few weeks it crystalizes then when you scrape it it's powdery sticky. if you work that into a ball it becomes caramel. i've been meaning to do a whole batch like this. do 2 or 3 loads on top of each other. my bowl is really big.

should i maybe buy more butane and hit it back with that to see if it'll make it back how it should be?

it did look perfect in the forth pic. maybe from the constant stirring it turned smaller???? i wouldn't redo it. when you smoke it heat it VERY slowly. let it melt into a bowlful of bud.

yea i use that ronson butane bottle, i dont think 1 is enough i used 2 and still don't think its enough, i got like a 3gram like a 8ball of crack. My shit looks golden creme color very good!

well i haven't tossed the leftovers should i go get another bottle of butane and run it through again. then just leave it with no stirring and hope it all mixes right. but it is dark out so what would i do about that. i am at a loss and i don't want this to be a waist i could have made a batch of 24 bomb ass THC caps with that stuff.

whoops thought you said to redo it so then how do i get this stuff out it is a very thin layer of a tar like substance. quite wet and sticky it won't really scrape much with the stick i am using

you can rinse the same trim over again yes. just leave what's already in the bowl there. don't stir it so much next time. mine takes several hours to fully dry in the bright sun. overnight indoors.

so then go get more butane and run it again?!
