One more question, does it matter if the shake is still green and wet (right after harvest) or should I dry it out first?

I'm planning on leaving it whole, putting it in a mason jar, freezing everything, then doing a very quick first wash. I'll do subsequent washes to get everything I can :)

Fresh frozen is a delicious way to do it! It traps the terps that were on the plant right at harvest. Usually, the yield seems lower, but it's just a proportional thing because the material still has water in it.

if you use fresh frozen ..and IPA dont wash more than three minutes of the water left in the plant starts to bring out the chlorophyll if it warms up any...but fresh frozen works just great for meds..

Hey guys. Stillhaven't taken the plunge to getting a vac purge system but Im looking to do a large-ish personal run of butane honey oil (or whatever u wanna call it)

Ive always tried to purge as much butane as I can with the hot water and pyrex tray method which works to some degree but there's definitely still butane in there this way.

Im looking for some sort of heat source to put the pyrex tray on to purge as much butane as possible in a "safe" manner. Outside of course. Was thinking of a seedling heat mat then read its not hot enough. Not really looking to use a burner for this. Is there a particular heat pad/mat that would work? how long (hrs, days?) would you leave your blasting tray on this heat source to get the best results? The time it takes is of no matter to me if the product improves.

Ive seen people use one of those cheap breakfast flat top griddles you plug in. Of course DON'T do it inside.

no stick rice cookers ...are fine too, you just have to be alert to the stage you are at.... so the heat can be reduced slowly to aid in removal the iso or whatever else you may want to use.
You can get a nice clear product... if care with the time and temps is taken.... fast washes(to what you are comfortable with) and slow evaporating
to ensure less heat is used.... there are fairly fine lines with both of these to ensure a quality product.
