Hortilux has a line of metal halide lights called Hortilux Blue, which are metal halides with even more blue light and also more red too. Although both the 400 watt and the 600 watt are the same "hortilux blue" light, the 400 watt has a color temperature of 6500 and the 600 watt has a color temperature of 5000. Also, the 400 watt version has a higher percent of relative energy outputted as light. The 600 watt has less percent of relative energy used to output light.

Here are the performance specs of each light:

Does that mean that the 600 watt version puts out about the same amount of light as the 400 watt, because it is less efficient and less of its energy is used to create light than the 400 watt's? And also what is the better color temperature to have, 5000k of the 600 watt or 6500k of the 400 watt?
