Hottest Pepper In The World "Naga Jolokia" (Grown in Hydro)

When peppers get under watered they become spicey, I had spicey bell peppers and was thinkin wtf then it rained hard for two days and those picked when it had stopped were normal bells.

grew some in my outdoor garden this year.

mine were outdoor, i planted in early may and i didn't get my first ripe ghost chili till football season started. then i got a ton of them. i only had four plants but i got hundreds and hundreds of peppers. it blew me away how many i got off them. it was my first time to grow them.

i had four plants. but that pic is just a fraction of my total yeild of peppers. i think i got more than that off one plant. i got my seeds from tradewinds fruit online. they take quit a while to germinate, but once they start producing peppers, they blow up. it was unreal. the branches were falling over because there were so many.

A look at some of the seedlings I planted last month... the middle one is a tricot.
These a jalepenos, growing in 5 litre water bottles, painted to cool the rootballs in our killer sun.

My 3 year old bell pepper is also full of flowers, hopefully I get more than just one pepper off it this year (not that I eat it).

do you move them from those pots or is 5L enough for the life of the plant? How big do they get? I would imagine it would only grow to 2-3.5 feet in those pots

I guess they would get a little bigger in the ground, but as far as I understand (and saw from other similar grows), these smaller peppers do OK like this.
being so late in the season, I doubt they will even make 2 feet, but I have lots of them.... asit takes up so little space like this.
I didn't wan't to plant it anywhere near my bell peppers, I have 4 of those, and I like keeping seed.

idk know if this infinite pepper that was mentioned is the same as im about to mention but this pepper beat the naga jolokia by 300,000 points on the schoville scale. it is called Naga Viper. just search it and look for the yahoo article.

i definately want to see this grow no doubt because i want to do the same so good luck

remindms me when i grow outdoor i usualy sprout around 6 mg seeds 2 months late and by that time my chili plants are big and i just put my mg plants in the middle and you cant see them and they catch up you cant even tell theres mj plants in there lol

RtR, how are the plants coming along? I grow quite a few hot peppers including the Bhut Jolokia. All of the Superhots are of the species chinense and they are the slowest growers of all the species of peppers and can sometimes take quite awhile to germinate. There are other species that take up to 3 months to germinate but they grow faster than the chinense's. Some say that if you stress the plants that will make them hotter. Peppers also like it on the dry side and should not be watered very often. My guess on the Infinity pepper is that it was a Bhut cross and the test produced a high scoville rating but there only talking 20 or 30k and you would never be able to tell the diff. Im not sure how it works on this forum because I am new but if anyone is interested in trying some diff. pepper varieties PM me and maybe I can help you out.

sorry guys i had to pull the plug we had a cold spell and some how the dor was left open and froz the rez and thing went down hill .
