what do i do? I decided to put this plant in my closet because outsde was too up and down weather. The skies are gray and the nights aren't so dark.. I put it in my own closet which is a walk-in and has a window but even if I open the window, it still smells. can anyone offer any advice? my bf hates that the plant is in here, he is being a whiney baby about it. ugh, mmen.................. it's not even his closet, he has 2 smaller walkins of his own. One of those would have been perfect for the plant and the place wouldn't even smell but since i have to use my closet and it's central, there is an odor thruoghout.

have either of you guys ever tried to cover the smell of a plant with an a stand up air filter?

maybe ozone generator

only way to keep smell out is keep alllll the air the passes over the plants is filtered.. which is what a tent is doing lol....

other than that, your better off lighting candles or and keeping the air moving LOL if you got plants just chillin in your place

I have a 12x12x7 room which has 12 large plants in various stages of bloom. I don't mind the smell, but there are times when I need to get rid of it. I have no need to vent outside to get rid of heat (it actually helps with the heating bill by not doing so). I bought an Ozn Jr. ozone generator. It cost about $90, and it works. When powered on, it cycles on'off every 10 min. The smells are cleared in about an hour, and I can turn it off for a few hours after that. I may put it on a timer at some point, but I don't really use it that much. Nice to know it's there and works though.

Use Molasses 1Tablespoon per gallon. It will cut down on the odor and if there is any smell left over just use a automatic room deodorizer. That should handle at least one plant.

ona makes a variety of products that help a lot of people with small time grows, the real issue here is that your boyfriend cares that you are growing. I would love to date a girl that grows. I think its great when the girls i date smoke, but growing...

Fucking A right!!
I had to introduce my wife to smoking and we are stronger for it with all the time we do in the woods with our dog all year.
But she had the typical first timer, "It dosent work on me" bullshit the first time so I had some WW sent from H-Town and that took her spinning into the ground, lol.''

We all should be as lucky as to have partners that are compassionate and understanding

There are apparently cute fuzzy bunnies out there with more balls than your plants.

i don't mind the smell but i mind his complaining. maybe i will try the molasses thing or some kind of room deodorizer. i opened the window - I would think it wouldn't stink too badly but it does sometimes anyway. I dn't want to spend a lot of money, it's just one plant. Maybe i will have to put it outside during the day but it's probably 4 feet tall and i hate moving it around.

I can tell you from personal experience when I bought into that molasses bull shit, that this is NOT the case. You are not going to reduce a plants smell by adding something to the soil that the plant can't even intake or use. And a room deodorizer will likely just mask the smell, making it smell like weed and Lysol.

If you want to actually nuetralize the odor, try ONA. Just be forewarned, your home will smell like a linen factory/dry cleaner or a hospital, depending on which one you go with. I keep my plants in a tent with a carbon scrubber. My back up plan is a whole house ozone generator that runs 15 on, 45 off.

Use Molasses 1Tablespoon per gallon. It will cut down on the odor and if there is any smell left over just use a automatic room deodorizer. That should handle at least one plant.

if it's just a temporary deal till your weather evens out a bit then I'd just toss some mothballs in there & tell the BF to suck it.

Next year buy some south african seeds, I have a giant arse monster plant or 3, like 8 foot plus, and you can't smell anything.

lol good ideas. happy to know the molasses won't' work before i try it... maybe ill try that odor killer.

bobby, the weather is supposed to get nice outside again in a week so I can probably put the plant baack out but the problem is the lack of darkness at night too so i may just keep her in - if i can keep him quiet.

keeping temp under 70 but above 65 will not harm the plant and prevent the oils it produces from giving off such a potent smell. works great for me in the basement.

They are not much use if you do the small plant thing no, they don't bonsai well. Its more like a christmas tree that carries many small bunches of weed.

Technicaly I can smell them if its very very hot like 40C, and they start to wilt, as soon as they are rehydrated all the smell is gone
