I got 14 CFLs going for 3 plants, it all depends on strength and location. The more lights the better definately, but definately for flowering you need at least twice as much as you used to veg it. Minimum.

Let me put it to you this way, I have a 400 watt hps, which produces about 45,000 lumens. I have about a 10 square foot grow closet. That means, on average, it will produce 4500 lumens per square foot. The sun, on a hot summer day will produce about 10,000 lumens per square foot. So, even with a 400 watt hps I could still use more lighting!
You, on the other hand have have about 6000 total lumens...! So if you are growing in a 10 square foot place you will only have 600 lumens per square foot, which is no where near what it should be! I hope this helps and am very serious when I say without more light you are wasting your time!

Furthermore, I was going to buy an additional 6 80 watt equivelant cfls to add to my 400 watt hps.

If I was you, I would buy a hps. You could probably get away with 150 watt which sells at htgsupply.com for $66 plus s&h. Im less framiliar with cfls but if you decide to go that route I would recommend no less that 250 watts total of red spectrum light. Im not talking equivalent to 250, Im saying actually 250 real watts. So 10 or so 23 watt bulbs and that is minimum..

ya man that should be good. Make sure its red spectrum though and make sure you have the light spread out. I would do it soon to prevent further stretching. Id like to see how your grow goes, are you thinking about a journal?
