how can i eliminate the grow smell

Carbon filter that filters room out attic. Some ona. you should be okay for someone spending a night but Id be concerned about fans noises that during the day usually from a room away resemble the ac or heater unit on. ONe thing happens on the dark mode meaning 12 on 12 off, flower the off times I don't keep the fan carbon filter on constantly. Ive had times in late flower with everything off a fragrent drifts thru the ac filter system. I know what it is but most others would not. That said, Ive had a few people over spend the night without any notice. one mentioned a stuffed up nose when she spends the night and not otherwise. Do have the room locked. Good luck

Oh & "Can-Lite" filters cost 2x as much but you'll never smell a thing. I'm real happy with mine so far.

Ebay Foothill Carbon Filters. usa made at least 5 years mine works fantastic reasonable prices. Year 4ish I sent them an email about buying some carbon for a refill. Easy and reasonable priced under a 100 bucks.

Hiding from a neighbor vs hiding from a roommate are totally different animals. Especially if you don’t have a secured room inaccessible to them. Or you know, be level and if they don’t want to sleep on the street mind their business

I wouldn't say negative pressure is required from the plants' point of view, but it def makes it easier to guarantee no smell escapes.

If you have positive pressure, like from the intake power being weaker than the exhaust, you might get smelly air seeping out of pinholes, zippers, or other imperfections in the tent/room. All those tiny leaks will have to be sealed up perfectly.

But if you have negative pressure, then you only need to worry about sealing the gaps between the filter and exhaust fan. Air will get pulled IN through those pinholes and seams and stuff rather than pushed OUT, and the only way out will be through the filter. If the filter is inside the grow space, then even the opening where the exhaust goes out doesn't have to be perfectly sealed because air will only get pulled IN through it.

Tips on carbon filters and fans...

Get a fan and filter twice the size of what you need. You can then utilize a speed controller to run the fan at half speed or less thus quieting it down significantly.

Carbon filters wear out so to speak. You can remove the carbon and heat it in the oven to recharge the carbon. This process stinks so be forewarned. I do this outdoors. Repack carbon and filter is like new again.

If you still have sound issues you can build a duct muffler. Use a tote and pack it with insulation and have the duct end inside the tote. Drill holes in the tote for the air to escape. This will silence the rushing air sound.

The 6x24 is $133 but still $50 cheaper than a Can-Lite.

I would say scrub all air into a lung room that’s sealed with a tiny ozone generator that kicks on and off periodically throughout the day. I know a person that does this and has folks over often that can’t smell a thing and have no clue he is growing and he has a fairly decent sized grow going all the time. I know the ozone generator isn’t good for humans or plants so I would do some major research before thinking about doing it but it will definitely kill the smell

Yep. When I think about it I've used foothill for 10 plus years now and changed the carbon a few times simple cheap to do. Back when I was researching it the company closed a few months when the owner an old hippy that was a one man show passed away. A few months later the kids decided to restart the company and continue it to this day. 6 x 12 is under a hundred bucks and works perfectly for the job. They have a filter with a fan in it that looks very interesting on it own. I don't pay attention to carbon filters topics anymore because the subject is covered.

How do you think it was made? Heat possibly? Yep it was definitely heat.

You would have to heat it to 900c to completely recharge the carbon but 500 degrees over a campfire, burner, or whatever seems to make it work like new again.

There are several reasons for the comment. I know carbon can be refreshed by placing it in the direct hot sun a day or 2. Carbon is used to rid smells on normal house things. When you have a grow room of smells going thru it for long periods and its simple and cheap to replace with new carbon. fresh carbon is my choice. security is very high on my list and this is one I want fresh carbon smells. My money is well spent and funds are not a challenge.

I agree and do the same but some people who may be less financially fortunate may benefit from the post.

I ran my AirROS by Sage Industrials for 2 years without a carbon filter and had no odor. I'm replacing parts on my AirROS so it's not working right now, my whole house smells of weed.

If you've got a few bucks extra it also kills powdery mildew.

Hey just got a used 4007, any advice you could give me for making sure it's setup correctly lol. The guy said the settings are already what they should be. Like 0.030 ppm and 15% power

I added a few filter bags to my second inline fan and carbon filter in my downstairs bathroom. My wife goes nuts when she smells it. I can smoke a joint and she smells nothing.
My tent exhausts into the area where the second filter is so there is no smell.

If you're getting 0.030 ppm you should be happy. I've got mine set to 25% power and it gets me up around 0.030.

Your 4007 is I believer bigger than my 4002.

Ok you need a decent fan and filter for sure also onablock on the out of the exhaust is good too however be careful of the gel if your putting it around the doors or near the plants you can taint your weed with it it tastes nasty and once done you will never forget it only use ona on the external bits i wouldnt use it inside the growroom make sure you got good negative pressure too

Stick a cup of ona in the exhaust duct. Then it just smells like a laundry mat washing skunk sprayed clothes.

The fan and filter will make a negative pressure in your grow space its always sucking fresh air in instead of the smell being able to leak out
As long as the fan exhaust air is smelling allright
