how can i make my fan mor silent?

i have a fan but you can barely hear it in the other room and i dont want that. what can i do to block the sound? :leaf:

is it a normal like desk/oscillating fan? or a inline or high velocity fan.
i would get a duct muffler if you have the money. or make a tube the size or you fan and line it with foam.
that basicly what it is.
thats all i can think of peace

you make a baffle box to go over your output.
<<obviously that is open for viewing purposes.

you can also hang/mount your fan onto little rubber bits, anywhere it would make contact to anything else.

mine is much simpler, it is just a cardboard box with two holes in it but it drastically decreases sound.

Not lots of growers have the space for all that my fellow weather growers! There are 2 other ways to silent your centrifugal fans besides ducting and boxing (there loud) get 2 bungees and hang it of the ceiling...it works. After that.... tape the ducts and tape the fan around. You can also cover all walls with cardboard like a music studio. Good luck. It works for me and I live in a duplex house and my neighbor does not have the slighest idea of what I'm doing.

put it in a box.. and buy one of those egg shell foam bed toppings and stuff that in the box with the fan... ghetto sound dampener
