^^^^ called it.

"Just cause it's called a blow job, it doesn't mean you actually blow."

The problem isn't the abundance of water, it's the lack of oxygen, it's just caused by the overabundance of water. Hydro you're pumping oxygen in the water or doing some kind of come and go system with your water...Im not a hydro guy I'm not an expert on their methods lol.

If you don't have proper drainage in coco and you're watering too often, you can have over watering. Let them dry out and reduce your watering/feeding schedule. Or, Add more perlite or hydroton rocks to your coco to air it out more and allow more drainage. Good luck.

I think I read your description wrong...sorry. Just add another air pump and air stone to your reservoir to increase O2 in your solution. Good luck.

wet feet is what i call it... let ya pot lighten up if its to heavy , then water ... hydro its flowing through the roots and ya roots are free but sittin in coco its just sittin stagnating if over watered. as above said ... Oxygen .

I've seen plants suffocate from lack of oxygen... the whole plant starts getting very light in color. These girls are just getting some yellow tops... however I'm going to cut back on the watering for sure!

Can't overwater a hempy coco pot, just sayin.
What he said you cant over water in coco, the best way to use coco is with fabric pots and no mix 100% coco. :leaf:

Coco coir is a soil-less growing medium which gives the experience of growing in soil, you simply water your plants with nutrient water. Coco coir can be treated basically the same as soil for growing cannabis and is effective at holding onto moisture and nutrients for roots, but it also has a lighter texture that lets it hold onto more oxygen, this helps prevent over and under-watering. Growing in coco tends to promote healthy and fast root development compared to other potting mixes.

I used to run coco in hempy hybrids. Dirt on top, maybe inch or two coco in the middle and perlite or rocks on bottom. Accommodates all three root types.

Worked well.

Oh, yeah; make sure to rinse the shit out of your coco in case there's salts trapped in.

Nice i have never tried anything other than perlite on my first run and really didn't like it so dropped it and done 100% coco and never had a problem now for around 1 year, i love coco because its so forgiving and also reusable for so long if cleaned right!

I recently killed 6/8 of my young plants in coco with 25% perlite by overwatering. I got cocky and just watered all 8 plants even though only 2 really felt light. I hadn't killed a plant due to overwatering before and I've been growing for 5+ years now. So I can confirm that you absolutely can overwater in coco.

What did they look like as they were dying... what were the symptoms

They fell over and were droopy. They never perked back up and eventually the leaves and stem just dried up. These were small, 2 cup plastic containers that I only use going from my seedling tray up to my 1g smart pots. Not sure if that contributed. They looked like that last plant in the pictures from the link the person above posted. Mine were only about 9 inches tall when this happened.

If they are small you can but like any plant with a small underestablished root system there is a possibility to cause harm I myself have ran 30+ litres sometimes for days through my 10 gallon sacks without a problem but I always start slow and I never use a mix like perlite.
