How do I wire an e40 connection.

I have a an E40 connector, 3 core cable and a 3 pin plug. The plug is connected but i need to connect the wire to the e40. there are three colours brown, blue and yellow/green. There are two places the wires can go in the E40. Into N which i guess is neutral and L which is guess is live.

Any ideas?
