  • This is my first legit grow and i just wanted to know how my buds look size wise and for being on day 31 of flower. I have 4 1,000 watt lights with 36 plants all together. 18 abusive OG (7-8 weeker) and 18 NY sour diesel (8-10 weeker). the first two pics are of OG and the second 2 are SD. I just up'ed the PPMs to 1300 for week 5 and planning on going to 1400 from week 6 till the end. i also just got a CO2 s system and im thinking about also feeding them with that untill the end even though its nearly at the end. Again they are at day 31, 1300 ppms, PH6-6.1, temp. is 75-78 and humidity is 50-55%... no CO2 yet.

They look great! It does look like they could use a small shot of N to keep them green for the next several weeks, but otherwise, very nice!

Why would you trim the bottoms? Just curious.
If their dying then it's good to trim the deadish leaves off the bottom to keep it from bugs eatin it up & targeting it.
If they aint then I usually leave it alone if lights hitting it up cause "dem's-a-solar-panels"!

i have lollipopped throughout the entire time but i still have a lot of foliage. when do you think is a good time to strip them of most of the fan leaves and the smaller bottom buds, and will this throw them into shock and slow down the filling out of the buds.

Who said that you have to strip em? the goal is to have ALL your leaves green till the end:eyesmoke:

If you trim the bottoms, it directs all the energy tht normally would be used To develop the airy small popcorn buds(because of lack of light penetration) to all the upper buds therefore making them bigger

If the fan leaves on the bottom are not getting enough light, they will die on their own. I can see removing the lower bud sites if you do not want the popcorn buds and you want to make your harvest easier, but that will be about all you get from it.
