How do you examine your trichomes?

I picked up a 60-100x mini microscope from Radio Shack today.

I wanted to see diff. peoples methods on how they examine thier trichomes.
I tried using the microscope on plant itself, but it was very hard to keep still and keep it in view.

I cut off a small piece of a sugar leaf and examined it that way.

I'd hate to have to cut off a leave everytime I want to look at my trichs. Is there a better way to do this?

Relax dude and just tear that damn leaf off. lol
It'll be fine. I have the same scope as you do, it works great.

I should also use leaves from the very top being that they would be the "most" ripe correct?

Haha yea, videoman's technique ripping off the leaf is fine. I would pick off the leaf with the most trichomes. Just take off a little every few days and safe the leaf for later use maybe for hash!!
